150ft Concept Yacht is a “Green Machine”

150ft Concept Yacht is a “Green Machine”

The latest 150ft concept yacht from designer Max Zhivov may have a sky-blue exterior but she is a true “green machine.”

Named the Sky Ya, Zhivov describes her as a “semi-displacement hybrid motor yacht, combining modern yacht design with the latest solar energy technology to produce a vessel with an obvious environmental consciousness.”

Other Features of the Sky Ya Hybrid Motor Yacht

As envisioned, the Sky Ya will make use of solar panels to charge her hybrid engines. The panels will be ideally located to soak up the sun’s rays, while adding to the overall aesthetic of the 150ft hybrid motor yacht. Adding to her “environmental consciousness,” the yacht will have a unique on board garden space, almost a “park at sea,” where the owner can enjoy a green, lush natural space, even while cruising.

There will also be extensive use of glass to add to the “outdoor feeling” in her main salon, with full height windows which will allow guests to enjoy spectacular sea views as well as flood the interior with soothing natural light. The Sky Ya will accommodate a crew of 10, and she is expected to achieve cruising speeds up to 18 knots.

Other Unique Luxury Motor Yachts

The Sky Ya concept yacht is another example of the growing trend towards the “greening” of luxury motor yachts. More and more hybrid motor yachts are becoming available from well-known yacht makers for environmentally conscious owners.

In 2015, Dutch Yacht maker, Feadship launched the world’s first luxury hybrid superyacht, the Savanah.
