The highly anticipated new luxury motor yacht from Admiral Yachts, the Ouranos, was launched in May, just in time for her to be showcased at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show 2016.
Since 1966, Italy’s Admiral Yachts has been known the world over for their custom aluminum and steel superyachts ranging from 105 to 177 feet. The Admiral Ouranos is close to the top of that range, coming in at 164 feet. “Ouranos,” comes from the Greek for heaven or “universe,” and this yacht is certainly heavenly! Designed to be ideal for luxury charter yacht vacations, she was truly breathtaking as she emerged gleaming in the Mediterranean sunlight in a video provided by Admiral.
The Ouranos is the second of four superyachts expected to be launched by Admiral Yachts this year. According to Superyacht Times, she was built for a repeat customer of the Italian yacht maker. The owner intends to use her personally with friends and family, as well as make her available for charters thoughout the world. The owner who has not been named, represents a growing number of yacht buyers, who are recognizing the value of off-setting expenses by making their yacht available as part of a charter fleet.
Details of the Ouranos Admiral Yacht
According to the builder, The Ouranos is “ideally suited for extended cruising, and features a vast and open terrace at the aft end of the yacht, which creates a perfect observation point overlooking the ocean.” She also has a dedicated massage and health spa area, which also converts to a gym, so whether it’s working out, or chilling out, guests aboard will have a hard time leaving this area of the upscale motor yacht. This 164ft Admiral Yacht has been designed to accommodate up to 12 guests, in 6 cabins.
The interior of the Ouranos was designed by Gian Marco Campanino, who says his concept was to create an interior decor with a new level of luxury, but one that remains refined and understated – a “luxury home on the water.” One of the more unique features of the superyacht can be found within her two salons, as they are seemingly connected by continuous full headroom side windows which “go from the main deck sideways up to the upper saloon ceilings, offering incredible sea views.”
Her elegant exterior design was created by the Danish Unielle Yacht Design Group, and features a spacious main deck aft cockpit, and plenty of other places for sunbathing, relaxing or entertaining, all covered in natural teak wood.
