In the wake of debuting the tenth hull in the Viking 80 series dubbed Friendship, at the recent Palm Beach International Boat Show, American Yacht builder, Viking, has released a unique “behind the scenes video,” of the construction of the first hull of its highly anticipated Viking 93 series.
As you can see in the video, the construction of the new Viking 93 is well under way!
Other Features of the Exciting Viking 93
The video highlights the recent installation of the wheelhouse as it is being attached to the GRP hull at the yard’s Gretna facility. The launch of this 93 foot luxury motor yacht is expect to be in August 2017.
The 93 obviously builds on the success of the Viking 75 and Viking 82 series, featuring a similar “fast planning” design. According to the company, the 93 had been “designed for the experienced yachtsman whose quest for wanderlust remains to be fulfilled, the Viking 93 MY will exceed those expectations and deliver outward bound horizons with style and functionality.”
Much about the project remains “hush-hush,” such as her complete layout and cabin design, but we do know how she will be powered. According to Boat International, she will sport a pair of 1,920hp MTU V12 2000 M96Ls, which Viking estimates will deliver a top speed of just under 27 knots and a cruising speed of around 24 knots. Viking recently announced that if all remains on schedule, they plan to showcase the first Viking 93 motor yacht at the 2017 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
