Horizon has made some recent announcements that we find particularly exciting given our specialty range of 70’ – 140’ and the fact that they have earned a solid spot in our Top 10 Yachting Manufacturers List. Let’s start with the fact that these guys came in at the 10 spot for top ten largest shipyards ranked by the Showboats International 2015 Global Order Book. Horizon has 16 yachts under construction totaling 1,686’ in length (105’average). In 2014, they slipped to the 11th position, so we’re glad to see them back in the Top 10.
Horizon announced a second order for a new luxury motor yacht V72 from a Taiwanese buyer. The “classically modern” Horizon V Series, currently comprised of the V72 and the V80, are popular for their customizable features such as three or four stateroom layouts, interior décor to suit an owner’s requirements, equipment options and more. The range reflects thoughtful styling (like her flush deck salon-to-galley transition and open main deck) and detailed consideration given to guest comfort on board, like enhanced interior volumes and superb entertaining areas. Larger ports allow light to flood the interiors, and guests are loving the foredeck lounge area with U-shaped settee and dual sunpads. While the V72 is owner operator friendly, a dedicated internal staircase was built from the main salon to crew quarters which can double as additional guest quarters if desired. With standard twin Caterpillar C18 ACERT 1,150-hp engines, expect cruising speeds in the low 20-knot range. A spring delivery is expected.
Horizon also announced a new V80 luxury motoryacht to arrive this spring in California. With the same single-level main deck as the V72, this V80 will have four comfortable staterooms and even more volume and outdoor entertaining space. She was recently moved to the test tank as part of the final build process. Also in the test tank is the new Horizon E78 with open bridge scheduled to arrive in the US this spring, too. Family-oriented owners looking in the mid-sized range of luxury yachts should really take a look at this vessel for her spaciousness (thanks to fewer interior bulkheads) and excellent sea-keeping. She can accommodate four staterooms plus crew (if desired). The E78 offers an open bridge or skylounge choice. She is powered by twin CAT C-32A @ 1600hp engines.
Look for a Horizon E84 to reach US shores this year, as well. With her four cabin layout and comfortable living areas, Horizon offers her as a blank canvas to create a family retreat or a luxurious cruising vessel (or anything in between). Buyers will certainly appreciate her generous 20’ beam, fully equipped helm, standard granite counter tops, high gloss interior finish and fly bridge davit. Choose from open, skylounge or fishing cockpit configurations.
Next up, the Horizon E88 open bridge motoryacht is on its way to a 2015 US delivery. Last year, Horizon Group CEO John Lu noted, “… we have seen high interest in our luxury yachts within the U.S. market, specifically for the E88 motoryacht. Her design platform is flexible enough that an owner can truly be creative with the layout and customize the yacht, inside and out, to fit his or her needs.” Indeed, the E88 design by John Lindblom blends modern looks with classic lines and features European touches, sleek exterior, sweeping windows and tear-drop shape. The standard offering is a four guest stateroom (ensuite) layout with crew quarters aft on the lower deck while the main deck contains the salon, formal dining area, galley and country kitchen forward. Owners have also chosen three guest stateroom layouts with an oversized master suite and the addition of a hot tub and/or mini wet bar elsewhere on board. Other creative choices include a beach club aft of the crew quarters and customizations of the aft boat deck on the flybridge to accommodate a large sunpad, L-shaped seating and full bar. On the bridge, the Horizon E88 offers either an enclosed sky lounge (most popular with its enclosed helm station and second salon) or open bridge. Standard power comes courtesy of twin MAN V12 @ 1,550-hp engines.
Taking a big leap up, the Horizon P110 is a world class tri-deck yacht designed for those who are seeking the ultimate cruising experience. With a sleek, streamlined exterior profile, world class fit and finish and spacious accommodations that offer either on deck master or country kitchen, the P110 is nothing short of palatial. With not only a sky lounge but a large fly bridge, she allows an array of custom features and design options that combine to create a 110’ tri-deck that rivals 120’ yachts in design and function. Standard power comes courtesy of twin MAN V12 @ 1550hp engines. Plan on sneaking a peak (or on board pass) to see her in March 2015 at the Palm Beach International Boat Show.
