The 56th Annual Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show has come and gone, and by all accounts it was the biggest and best ever! The boat show was 5 days of exhibits, debuts from several top boating manufacturers, events, and family fun!
Always promoted as the worlds “biggest boat show,” the 2015 Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show had more boats on display “in the water,” than ever before. There were over 1500 boats on display, which is over 4% more than last year. Interestingly enough there were more boats to be seen in every size category, including luxury motor yachts. There were even 5 Megayachts coming in at over 200 feet each.
Attendance was also up, a new record of over 100,000 visitors, according to the show organizers.
All in all there was over $4 billion in boats, related equipment, artwork, and accessories on display, spanning the largest physical space in the history of show – over 3 million square feet!
Many yacht manufacturers debuted long anticipated new models at the show, which was a major draw. There were indications that American yacht manufactures are rebounding in the strengthening economy with debut boats from Numarine, Otam, and Hatteras.
The Ft. Lauderdale boat show is the premier event supporting the South Florida marine industry, and is a boon to the local economy overall. It has been estimated that the boat show has a greater impact on the local economy than a Super Bowl!
26 North On Display
Every year the boat show just seems to get more and more awesome, and I found this year to be no exception.
26 North was proud to host the North American debut of the newly designed Dyna 60. The Dyna 60 “II” was extremely well received by visitors to the show. Potential boat owners were particularly impressed with the value that the new Dyna 60 provides for its price point.
Several who took the opportunity to tour the boat considered taking advantage of our unprecedented guarantee of charter income to be made from the Dyna 60. 26 North is offering a 2-year extended warranty on the purchase of a new Dyna 60, as well as a guarantee of $100,000.00 to be earned by anyone who purchases the boat and signs her up for charter.
