As specialists in the luxury motoryacht range of 70’ – 140’, 26 North Yachts is really pleased with the product that Kaohsiung, Taiwan-based Horizon Yachts builds. In fact so much so that they retain a stronghold in our Top 10 Motoryacht Manufacturer’s List. With the announcement of the sale of four new Horizon E88 motoryachts in the U.S., Horizon continues to demonstrate its success with quality semi-custom builds backed by excellent performance. The E88 was a natural evolution of Horizon’s popular 82’ model, now accommodating larger families and more guests.
Three of these Horizon E88 motoryachts are new factory build projects and one is inventory. One new build is going to a second-time Horizon owner based in Seattle this summer, the second will call Florida home in early fall (and will be showcased at the 2014 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show Oct. 30 – Nov. 3) and the third is expected in 2015. The inventory yacht was eagerly received by a second-time Horizon owner from Florida and is already splashing around the Bahamas.
Horizon Group CEO John Lu discussed the recent successes, “In the past six months, we have seen high interest in our luxury yachts within the U.S. market, specifically for the E88 motoryacht. Her design platform is flexible enough that an owner can truly be creative with the layout and customize the yacht, inside and out, to fit his or her needs.”
The E88 design by John Lindblom blends modern looks with classic lines and features European touches, sleek exterior, sweeping windows and tear-drop shape. The configuration of the Horizon E88 motoryacht is somewhat flexible. The standard offering is a four guest stateroom (ensuite) layout with crew quarters aft on the lower deck while the main deck contains the salon, formal dining area, galley and country kitchen forward. The design can also incorporate a hi/lo swim platform for all of the necessary water toys. Owners have also chosen three guest stateroom layouts with an oversized master suite and the addition of a hot tub and/or mini wet bar elsewhere on board. Other creative choices include a beach club aft of the crew quarters and customizations of the aft boat deck on the flybridge to accommodate a large sunpad, L-shaped seating and full bar.
On the bridge, the Horizon E88 offers either an enclosed sky lounge (most popular with its enclosed helm station and second salon) or open bridge. In either case, guests enjoy relaxing outdoors on the bridge deck, main deck aft and forward bow. Power comes courtesy of twin 1,600-hp Caterpillar C32A engines for top speeds of 22 knots and cruising at 19 knots. Mechanical options include Octoplex touch-screen monitoring system, bow and stern thruster and custom A/V and Nav sytems.
