One of our Top 10 Motoryacht Models, the Marlow Explorer 97E motoryacht Hull #5 will make her debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). Practice makes perfect, and Marlow’s experience with this flagship hull shows in every detail of the vessel.
Introduced in 2011, Marlow designed the Explorer 97E with both performance and the environment in mind. The foundation is the proprietary Full Stack Infusion © which removes human error from the critical laminating process—including contamination and atmospheric considerations. The Marlow Explorer 97E boasts a beam of 21’ and waterline length at about 92’. The result is great fuel economy at displacement speeds and the ability to go fast when desired. Marlow is confident that with its Bureau VERITAS unrestricted navigation certificate, it is “the fastest, best performing raised pilothouse offshore yacht in the world with equal power.” Indeed, she’ll top off at 29 knots with a more comfortable cruising speed at about 23 to 24 knots. Her range at 25 knots is about 950 miles, and traveling at 9 knots will yield a range of 4,000 miles.
Board the Marlow ME 97E Command Bridge, and you’ll find an indulgent master suite on the main deck along with the grand salon and separate formal dining room. The U-shaped galley has two access points—from the dining area in addition to a strategically placed door that allows for less obtrusive in-and-out activities.
The on deck master can also be accessed in two ways—directly from the salon or from the exterior. Daylight and moonlight stream in the panoramic, curved glass windows. The master head features Shanxi black granite sole with a hand-carved solid Sichuan pure white soaking tub and hand-carved marble sinks and vanities.
Three additional guest cabins sit below as well as aft crew quarters. A private commissary awaits with full cooking facilities as well as laundry facilities (not quite as popular with vacationing guests).
The Marlow Explorer 97E Fly Bridge showcases the open fly bridge and on deck raised pilothouse with navigation station, ample galley and informal dining area. No bulkhead in the salon means the views go from bow to stern and beyond. The full beam amidships master occupies the most stable area aboard. The fly bridge easily accommodates a fleet of water toys and outdoor entertaining.
Captains will appreciate easy access to the engine room via a convenient companionway for all weather use. Hardly an afterthought, the machinery space reflects the same detail, fit and finish as the rest of the vessel. (There’s also optional air conditioning and work bench.)
