Oceanco Flagship Superyacht Jubilee Nears Completion of Sea Trials

As we reported at the beginning of this year, Oceanco’s launch of the superyacht Jubilee, was one of the most highly anticipated superyacht launches of the year.

Oceanco is known for building some of the largest and most dynamic superyachts in the world. The over 350 foot Project Jubilee will be the largest build yet for the well-known Norwegian yacht maker. Now undergoing successful sea trials ahead of her expected to launch later this year, Jubilee is the first yacht to be built in Oceanco’s new 450 foot dry dock. Project Jubilee’s exterior design comes courtesy of Igor Lobanov, while Sam Sorgiovanni created the interiors, and the naval architecture was developed in collaboration with British studio, BMT’s Nigel Gee.

At over 360 feet, Jubilee, is the largest superyacht built in The Netherlands to date, she will join the ranks of the world’s largest superyachts when completed later this year.

Project Jubilee was originally announced as a collaboration with Burgess  in 2012. The technical consultancy services division of Burgess acted as both technical consultants and owner’s representatives.

Unique Features of This Superyacht From Oceanco

One of the most stunning and unique features of superyacht Jubilee, is her exterior design by Igor Lobanov, which creates an illusion making it nearly impossible to see how many decks she really has. The design uses unusual horizontal lines that trick the eye into thinking she has more than her six decks.

Jubilee has 16 cabins designed to accommodate up to 31 guests, in 15 double and one single VIP cabin. In addition, there is an entirely private owner’s deck. She has space for a crew of 45.

Jubilee was built from a steel hull and aluminum superstructure to have a total interior volume of more than 4,500GT. Power comes from a pair of MTU diesel engines for an estimated top speed of 18.5 knots.

She also sports a fully-certified foredeck helipad, an aft-deck swimming pool with built-in aquarium and a superyacht beach club below.

According to an Oceanco press release, “This yacht has a very sleek and original profile that will surely turn heads wherever she travels. Her elongated profile flows elegantly and gracefully from bow to stern.”
