As reported in these pages, Princess Motor Yachts has been having a bit of a banner year. Their sales have been up, and they have introduced several new models, such as its new S65. Other new models include the Princess 75, a V48, and V58.
Now, the UK based yacht builder known for a unique combination of innovation and timeless craftsmanship, has just launched one of their first true “mega-yachts,” the 100 foot Princess 30M.
Princess had generally built its reputation with a focus on sporty yachts in the 50 – 70 foot range. The new Princess 30M, which is just a bit under 100 feet, is a way for yacht owners to step up in size, while keeping the sleek and sporty style that Princess has come to be known for.
What Makes the Princess 30M so Super?
It is not only her size that makes the new Princess 30M so “super.” One of the things that places her squarely in the megayacht or superyacht category is the placement of her Master stateroom. The Master Suite is on the main deck, not down below where it would be found on most smaller luxury motor yachts. Having the Master on the main deck allows her to have more stylish lines further forward. As one reviewer put it, “this is simply an undeniably pretty yacht.”
She also shares a gallery that is usually reserved for vessels in the megayacht class. According to Yachting Magazine, the 30M’s galley is located “aft and to port, and is enclosed, ensuring that a top-rated chef will have all the privacy, stowage and prep space needed to produce five-star tasting menus in any anchorage.”
She has a well-appointed raised wheel house, and can do an impressively smooth 27 knots, powered by twin 3,600 hp MTU M94s. Even though she is a megayacht in every detail of the category, her 7 foot 6 inch draft makes her an ideal cruiser for the waters in and around South Florida.
While the 30M has fine lines, and many luxury accouterments inside and out, like all Princess Yachts, she is entirely customizable, and owner creativity is not only possible, but encouraged.
Overall, the Princess 30M megayacht is an exceptional example of the motor yacht builder’s commitment to innovation, and to designing some of the most technically-advanced, yet aesthetically appealing yachts the world has ever known.
