Our yacht of the week this week is the Thanks Petey, a 61ft Viking Sport Cruiser.
Viking Sport Cruisers, now known as Princess Yachts America, began in 1996, when a deal was struck between Viking and Princess Yachts International of Plymouth, England. The partnership has been very successful in introducing a new class of luxury performance cruising yachts to the American market.
Built in 2006, the Thanks Petey is a prime example of the rich tradition of American sports cruisers, and European luxury that the brand has come to be known for. She has all upgraded electronics, only 1100 hours on MAN 1100 Common Rail engines that have had 1000 hour servicing, and a full enclosure fly bridge, with a 3 stateroom layout.
Special Features of this Viking Princess 61
One of the most striking features of this truly unique Princess 61, is her raked profile and raised bulwarks that give the Thanks Petey the feel of a much bigger boat. Sleeping six in style, the master suite and two guest suites all have bathrooms with separate stall showers. The spacious salon, with its dining area and sunken galley, is an atmospheric environment for corporate or personal entertaining, and can be opened to the cockpit to create one large party area. The flybridge incorporates a sunbed, spacious seating and its own wet bar. With impeccable sea keeping, the Princess 61 puts high-speed distance cruising genuinely within reach.
Upon entering Thanks Petey through the aft deck, you are greeted by a spacious salon that sports a U-shaped sofa and a matching cherrywood coffee table to the port, with a love seat to starboard. The state-of-the-art entertainment center is highlighted by a Bose Lifestyle Hi-Def surround-sound system with a 32” Samsung flatscreen TV.
