Check out the latest addition to our motoryacht video archive, an Horizon 78′ called BELLA MARE, featuring a three stateroom layout plus crew quarters powered by twin MAN engines at 1550 hp apiece.
BELLA MARE has an enclosed sky lounge, country kitchen and full beam main salon. She offers the interior volume of a much larger yacht. Other features include hydraulic bow and stern thruster, TRAC stabilizers, chilled A/C, water maker and more. The 11′ Boston Whaler can easily be boarded from the large swim platform that’s a perfect setup whether you’re an avid diver or fisherman.

Horizon’s 78 Sky Lounge BELLA MARE measures 78’6” with a beam of 19’ and maximum draft of 6’6”.
Aft Swim Platform, Transom and Deck | :50
The aft deck offers two sets of stairs leading from the swim platform to the main deck, in addition to access dockside. A large teak table with four, complementary teak chairs offers seating for eight along with the aft settee seating. Two swivel stools accompany the popular wet bar outfitted with a 2013 Scotsman ice-maker and 2013 U-line fridge. Stairs here lead up to the bridge level.
Main Salon | 1:10
Enter the full beam main salon and note the interior volume characteristic of much larger yachts. High gloss interiors reveal paneling and cabinetry in mahogany-like makore on the main and upper deck. New carpets were installed in 2011. An 8’ mirrored ceiling insert in the main salon will be sure to draw attention. A 10-person U-shaped sofa to starboard and matching settee to port provide ample accommodation in the main salon. A plasma television is integrated into an entertainment cabinet. Electric blinds allow for complete privacy or expansive views and light. A China closet provides crystal glass storage with a wine locker below. Crew quarters are accessible through a private entrance aft portside of the main salon.
Galley | 1:45
Marble and mahogany flooring provide a gorgeous base for the galley and country kitchen forward. Granite counters, ample overhead cabinets and double pantries will please any chef. A teak dining table forward and wrap around leather seating comfortably seat eight. On the way from the main salon to the galley, a conveniently placed day head was thoughtfully arranged portside. Private access is provided to the master stateroom and guest cabins via a staircase.
Sleeping Quarters | 2:12
BELLA MARE boasts four staterooms, including a crew stateroom. An amidships, full-beam master has plenty of storage and flat screen television / DVD entertainment system. Paneling and cabinetry of high gloss bird’s-eye maple can be found throughout. The master head set off with marble flooring, cherry wood finish and maple columns is full beam with his and hers areas separated by a full-sized shower. A queen-berth VIP stateroom and guest twin-berth stateroom—both ensuite with showers– feature hi-gloss cherry interiors, creamy accents and marble flooring.
Crew Quarters | 3:30
A starboard crew stateroom features side-by-side berths and port over/under bunks. Even the shared head here has marble flooring! A small crew galley features granite countertops, and hi-gloss cherry finish is carried throughout. The air conditioning system, electrical equipment and stacked washer/dryer are located forward of the crew staterooms in a utility room portside.
Engine Room | 3:45
The well-lit engine room is accessed at the rear of the salon or from the transom through a watertight door. BELLA MARE is powered by twin MAN common rail engines at 1550hps. With this configuration, she cruises at 20 knots and attains maximum speeds of 24 knots. She also features hydraulic bow and stern thruster and TRAC stabilizers. Flooring is of diamond-plate aluminum.
Bridge Deck | 3:50
Aft on the bridge deck, a 2012 15’ Boston Whaler with 60 hp Mercury outboard calls out for exciting excursions. Moving forward, an al fresco galley with L-shaped settee is outfitted with refrigerator, ice-maker, sink and electric Gaggenau grill. Moving into the enclosed sky lounge through an access door, the two electric Stidd captain’s chairs make a firm statement that this boat does serious sailing! Aft of the helm in the enclosure is a leather settee (portside), coffee table, television and a desk (starboard). Access to seating and sunpads forward is made possible along walkways port and starboard from the main deck.
