About Grand Banks Yachts

Beginning as American Marine, Ltd., in Hong Kong, Grand Banks Yachts started in the 1960s with Robert J. Newton and sons, John and Whit. With facilities in Singapore and Malaysia, Grand Banks offers timeless trawlers that are built for serious cruising to reliably navigate the world’s oceans. Built for distance, Grand Banks’ trawler-type motoryachts deliver state-of-the-art equipment, serious power, reliability, comfort, and experienced craftsmanship in a well-recognized design. A high percentage of Grand Banks are ordered with customization.

Combining traditional techniques with new technologies, Grand Banks prides itself on strength and handling in all sea conditions.  From special gelcoats and reinforced cleats and chocks, to hand layup of Hydrex vinylester resins and engine mounts built for quiet operation, Grand Banks ensures quality construction and excellent durability. Interiors with trademark teak appointments feature Grand Banks’ excellent craftsmanship, and system undergo a rigorous inspection before delivery to eager owners.

Grand Bay’s original design is incorporated today as the Grand Banks Heritage Series, ranging from 41 to 54 feet. In 1993, the designer Ray Hunt captured the lobster boat or “downeast” design in its launch of the Eastbay Series, ranging from 39 to 55 feet. The Aleutian Series, ranging from 53 feet to 76 feet, launched in 2001 with its signature raised pilothouse and a new level of style and sophistication, matched by the expected seaworthiness of a Grand Banks.

The Grand Banks 72 Aleutian RP is described as “gorgeous and gracious above the waterline” and “a powerhouse below.” The standard twin 1,000 HP engines power ahead to speeds of 25 knots and above, while still offering fuel economy at displacement speeds.  Sumptuous interiors and large staterooms are outfitted with exquisite hand-crafted furnishings. The flagship Grand Banks 76 Aleutian RP features a more contemporary interior with European touches and four staterooms that accommodate owners and guests with comfort. The Twin Disc remote engine control allows operators to run the boat from side, aft, and fore decks—with standard bow thruster and optional stern thruster.
