About Lyman Morse Yachts

A custom boat builder with a yard in coastal Maine, Lyman Morse boasts a distinguished history since the late 1970s with a background in sloops, schooners, lobster boat conversions and motoryachts. Their Seguin 44 put them on the map and many are still around today plying the ocean; in fact Lyman Morse still keeps tabs on all of them. Lyman Morse’s boatbuilding heritage runs deep, and many of their team members are third and fourth generation yacht builders.
Lyman Morse’s state-of-the-art facilities enable construction of custom yachts well in excess of 140 feet. Their compound includes a metal fabrication shop, rigging shop, canvas shop, paint and varnish area, and cabinet shop. They boast several molds from excellent designers, offering a variety of semi-custom options.
In 2006, Lyman Morse launched “Baraka,” their first all carbon sail boat with lifting keel and fast speed, and in 2007 their largest project to date, 94-foot motoryacht “Electra,” was launched, in addition to beginning work on their first all-carbon catamaran. Lyman Morse is currently building hull number one of the Paris 63 Performance Offshore Family Cruiser commissioned by 76-year-old Stanley Paris to solo circumnavigate the globe. An update of the successful Marquesa 54, the Lyman Morse Marquesa 55 hull has been modified to accommodate an optional pilothouse deck and interior. The 54 Waterjet Express Flybridge delivers top speeds of 35 knots and a cruising speed of 30 knots—with an operating draft of approximately three feet. In addition, they have many designs in house awaiting the right owner to fulfill their seagoing dreams.
