The METSTRADE Show is the world’s largest and most visited B2B leisure marine equipment show and Superyacht showcase. The annual industry event, which has been bringing the marine industry together for decades, took place last month, running from November 14th through the 16th in Amsterdam.
One of the most highly anticipated events every year at METSTRADE (METS) is the super-spectacular “Superyacht Night,” and by all accounts it was a “super-success.” Presented on the last night of the show, with Feadship as its Power Sponsor, in Amsterdam’s trendy Escape nightclub, this year’s event was bigger and better than ever before, welcoming a total of 1,250 guests.
Speaking to Superyacht Times on the success of the event, SuperYacht Company Director, Merijn de Waard, says: “From what started as a makeshift party in our office basement in Amsterdam for just a handful of our friends in the industry, SuperYacht Night has grown to be one of the most talked about parties of the yachting event calendar. It was fantastic to see so many new and old friends in the business letting their hair down after a busy couple of days at the METS, and enjoying another edition of our event. A great end to the show season, we’d like to thank all of our supporters who make this evening possible every year, and we are already looking forward to SuperYacht Night 2018!”

METSTRADE 2017 by the Numbers
It wasn’t only the closing party that was a resounding success for METSTRADE this year. The entire event was record breaker, with over 16,000 visitors walking through the doors. According to show organizers,”10,600 attendees of the total number of visitors came from outside the Netherlands, with the top attending countries (after the Netherlands) being Italy, the U.K, Germany, France and Spain. Celebrating it’s 30th anniversary this year, METSTRADE 2017 attracted an international crowd hailing from 116 different countries. Over the three days, nearly 25,000 combined visits were made to the event; a 5% increase over 2016’s figures.”
