The renowned Italian shipyard Benetti just launched its first gigayacht – a 331-footer with the deceptively nondescript code-name FB277. She’s now the largest Italian-built yacht ever. A massive swimming pool on the sundeck, seven VIP cabins, a touch-and-go helipad, and a world-class spa are just a few of the on board amenities. She’s powered by a diesel-electric propulsion system, dramatically reducing fuel consumption.

With the launch of FB277, Benetti Yachts officially enters the rarified world of gigayacht builders – and the lads from Livorno (ok, so no one actually uses that nickname) are just getting warmed up. Two other similarly sized yachts are currently under construction. FB277 is slated for delivery this summer, and, in an unusual move for a yacht this size, she’ll be available for charter after that.

Our team recently visited Benetti’s shipyard in Viareggio, and we also happen to have the best-priced Tradition Series Benetti on the market right now, so we’re keeping an especially close eye on this 146 year-old builder. A giga-sized congratulations to Benetti on their latest launch – we look forward to many (really) big boats to come!
