Summer is here, and that means VACATIONS!

For owners of a luxury motor yacht, your next vacation is usually only as far away as your marina! All you have to do, is just have the captain fire up the engines, and take you to your favorite port of call, or island getaway.

But, even yacht owners, may want to check out something a little different for their next vacation. So, here in no particular order, are ten of the best vacation spots in the US* to travel to, via your yacht – or not!

Sedona – If you really want to get away from the oceans for a while but still see some of the most magical wonders of nature, the is no better place in the US than Sedona, Arizona. Sedona is surrounded by 1.8 million acres of national forest land. It is nestled amongst a geological wonderland, of multi-hued stone formations, jutting upwards from the high desert floor creating a vivid, mesmerizing setting that changes hourly with the light.

Honolulu – Does much more need to be said to a yacht owner, about cruising to Hawaii in yacht? For a superyacht with an extended cruising range, it is very possible to voyage from California to Hawaii in about 10 -14 days. Once there, there are too many “must sees” to list, in this island paradise.

New York City –Given that most luxury motor yacht owners are High Net Worth Individuals, it is very likely they have already spent some time in the Big Apple. But, have you ever taken the time to see her like a tourist? The sheer number of things to do in the “City that never sleeps,” puts just about any other vacation destination to shame. Of course, there are many places along the Hudson to dock, and you are just an easy cruise to the popular hot spots of Long Island, on up through to New England.

San Francisco – From the Mission to the Castro, San Francisco is a hotbed of cultural and ethnic diversity, which is reflected in everything from its cuisine, to its nightlife. The best way to experience all that the “City by the Bay” has to offer is to explore each of its many neighborhoods.

New Orleans – Want more gumbo, live jazz and partying than you can handle? Then cruise on down to the Big Easy! Does any city in America have a culture more unique than New Orleans? A melting pot of influences ranging from Caribbean to European, New Orleans has a distinct vibe all of its own.

Grand Teton National Park – Grand Teton National Park is in the northwest of Wyoming. It encompasses the Teton mountain range, the 4,000-meter Grand Teton peak, and the valley known as Jackson Hole. Few landscapes in the world are as striking and memorable as that of Grand Teton National Park. Grand Teton has a lot to offer whatever your interests. Mountains, valleys, lakes, rivers and skies are home to diverse and abundant forests, wildflowers and wildlife. The park also has a rich cultural history with old homesteads and cattle ranches to explore and photograph.

Coastal Georgia – Stretching for approximately 100 miles, Georgia’s Coast encompasses America’s most beautiful city, Savannah, to the north, the wild horses of Cumberland Island to the south, and any number of incredible attractions, adventures and amenities in between.

Denali National Park – If adventure is what you crave in a vacation, you do not have to travel to Africa, or “down under,” to get it. Alaska’s Denali National Park offers 6 million acres of untamed wilderness to explore! While there, do not miss the opportunity to see the sky-dancing Northern Lights.

Portland, Oregon – Portland is known as one of the world’s best towns for beer, and just the right dash of “funk” and “weirdness.” At last count, there were at least 30 unique breweries in Portland, churning out a brew to please almost any pallet. Endlessly entertaining, Portland is compact, historic, entirely walkable, and has a great riverfront park, and a funky blend of eclectic neighborhoods.

Florida’s Emerald Coast – This one is an easy and delightful yacht cruise, especially if you have your yacht docked here in SOFLA and want to escape the usual. Florida’s “Emerald Coast” is a thin stretch of coastline along the Florida Panhandle between Pensacola and Panama City. It is one of the state’s vacation gems that is a far cry from Orlando’s theme parks or Miami’s thumping nightlife.
