Newport has been a thriving city since Colonial times – and yachting in this storied place is a truly magical experience. Home to the Naval War College, a legendary shipyard & marina, arguably the prettiest bay in New England, as well as other maritime “must sees”, this town is best seen from a yacht.
As is the case with many of the marquee yachting destinations in New England, the challenge with boating in Newport is having too many options. If one only has a day to explore, does it make more sense to explore the city’s legendary coastline, or perhaps go whale watching? But Block Island, Sag Harbor, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard are also in the vicinity and perfect for a day trip. Like we said, there are too many choices!
