The Turks & Caicos Islands are a British Overseas Territory comprised of the larger Caicos Islands and the smaller Turks Islands. These two groups of islands are found in the Lucayan Archipelago, situated at the nexus of the Atlantic Ocean and the northern West Indies. That’s a lot of detail – so, for shorthand, you can also refer to it as the world’s best tropical paradise.
Turks & Caicos has rocketed up the list of top luxury travel destinations – and with good reason. The diving & snorkeling is, quite literally, as good as it gets, and the locals could not be any friendlier. The beaches are spectacular, as are the coral reefs. And the best way to explore Turks & Caicos? By motor yacht, of course!
GRACE BAY, PROVIDENCIALES
Grace bay is eight kilometers of absolute heaven – it is, undoubtedly, one of the top 5 beaches in the entire Caribbean. Snorkelers will fall head over heels in love for “The Bright Reef” and “Smith’s Reef” in the bay’s underwater park. Say hello to a wild bottlenose dolphin while you’re down there!
CHALK SOUND NATIONAL PARK
If turquoise blue water is water you’re looking for, look no further than Chalk Sound National Park. located in Providenciales. Home to thousands of iguanas, this park is the perfect spot to enjoy kayaks & stand-up paddleboards. Or you can simply relax and snap a few pictures (note: no filter will be needed on Instagram).
SWIM WITH STINGRAYS AT GIBBS BAY
Gibbs Bay is a stone’s throw away from the easter coast of Grand Turk. It’s completely uninhabited and offers some of the best coral reef snorkeling anywhere. That said, you might find feeding stingrays in the shallow waters that surround the beach so amusing, that you’ll forgo snorkeling for the day. We’ll see. Check out the huge population of seabirds while you’re at the Bay!
CROSSING PLACE TRAIL HIKE, MIDDLE CAICOS
Crossing Place Trail, a National Trust Heritage site, is a breathtaking eight-kilometer trail for bikers & hikers. You’ll be walking past cave formations, inland bush, and a lot more. It’s all out-of-this-world beautiful. Trust us.
