As someone who craves a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, my recent trip to Placencia, Belize, exceeded all expectations. Staying at the Naia Resort and Spa was a dream, and I can see why it was just named Hotel of the Year by the Belize Tourism Board. Our journey began with a smooth flight from Miami to Belize City. From there, we hopped on a short Maya Air flight to Placencia, which offers stunning views of Belize’s coastline and emerald waters. As soon as we landed, the laid-back vibes of Placencia welcomed us with open arms.

Each of these locations offers a unique glimpse into the underwater wonders of the Caribbean, making Placencia a diver’s paradise.
Beyond the Resort – Dining Delights
Placencia is also a food lover’s paradise. We celebrated my birthday with meals at two incredible restaurants: Mango’s and Hotel Maya Bistro. Mango’s is known for its delicious seafood, and the atmosphere is as warm as the Belizean sun. At Hotel Maya Bistro, we indulged in a mix of local and international flavors, each dish bursting with fresh ingredients and expertly prepared.

Though our stay was short, Placencia offers even more for the adventurous spirit. From the Monkey River Tour, where you can spot howler monkeys and exotic birds, to ziplining and tubing through lush rainforests, there’s no shortage of activities to keep you entertained.
