Ferretti Group’s prestigious CRN shipyard in Ancona, Italy, recently launched the fifth hull of the Ferretti Custom Line 124’. An entire team of management, engineers, architects, craftsmen and designers took part in the celebration.   She is the largest yacht ever built in the planing line of the Custom Line brand, therefore making her the impressive flagship of the line. Mario Chessa, the group’s EMEA regional director, noted that this model represented the cutting edge of the Custom Line planing line and entire brand. She is a successful blend of elegance, innovation, performance and fine building. The Custom Line 124’ features many innovations that are widely appreciated in various worldwide markets.  She’ll be delivered to her owners for Med cruising once onboard décor and technical operations are complete by end of spring.

The Custom Line 124’ luxury motoryacht represents a collaboration between Studio Zuccon International Project and AYT&D (Advanced Yacht Technology & Design), Ferretti Group’s research, design and product development center. Her traditional, gleaming, white hull and streamlined, slender profile complement a hard-top, owner modification that shelters the sundeck. The owner requested other customizations as well, both indoor and outdoor, that were made possible by AYT&D analysis and implementation.

Reflecting a contemporary design and departure from traditional outfitting, the main deck salon was restyled with a large bar on the port side just forward of the cockpit. A generous lounge with two, custom L-shaped sofas and coffee tables in a center island arrangement replace a traditional living / dining layout (with normal sofa, wall-mounted accents and dining table). The focal accent here is a Sahco silk carpet. The main deck is illuminated with the Custom Line’s trademark large windows that allow light (and views) to stream in.  Light blue marble was chosen for the master bath (in the full beam, main deck master forward) and white marble chosen in the four guest cabins belowdecks.

Noted for its wide outer spaces, the fifth hull of the Custom Line 124’ offers nothing different, however the owner modified the area to include an indoor lounge with a variety of comfortable seating options. Outdoors, a round hot tub, lush cushions and sun loungers, sofas and individual seats give guests a plethora of relaxing choices. The major deviation up here is the dining area outdoor on the flybridge—which would normally have been outfitted in the main deck salon.

The Custom Line 124’ is outfitted with two MTU 12V 4000 M93L 3510 mhp engines for a maximum speed of 27.5 knots and a cruising speed of 23.5 knots. Her beam measures 24’5”.

A division of Ferretti Group, Custom Line began with an intuition in 1996 by Lamberto Tacoli and Norberto Ferretti to build a range of yachts larger than the flybridge Ferretti models currently offered at the time. Their goal was to open their market to enable their clients to remain faithful to their brand, launching both planing and semi-displacement models, the first a Custom Line 94.

Superyachts in composite materials from Custom Line Yachts are skillfully and technically built in Ferretti yards in Italy, backed by the most advanced design and naval research center in the world in conjunction with talented architects and designers who skillfully combine quality, great attention to detail, safety and excellent performance at sea.  Custom Line offers just that: an ability for owners to create a semi-custom yacht uniquely theirs, crafted with their personal touch. All non-structural, decorative features can be customized.

With the creation of the Ferretti Yachts division in 2002, came the introduction of the ARG (Anti-Rolling Gyro) stabilization system which was tested for the first time exclusively on a Custom Line yacht. ARG allows a reduction of over 50 percent of wave roll, giving owners comfort at sea. Safety and technological excellence combine in the advanced Naviop and Gi8 systems, allowing onboard functions to easily be monitored on an interactive display, and common rail motors that give great performance in addition to reduction of noise and water pollution.

Ferretti announced a new branding campaign last September in Cannes, announcing a diversified range of products in three different product lines—Ferretti Yachts, Ferretti Custom Line and Ferretti Navetta. Ferretti Custom Line sporty maxi-yachts range between 97 and 124 feet and feature planing hulls in fiberglass. They are also known for their fast cruising speeds.
