Hargrave’s 125 RPH: Contemporary Convenience in a Custom Build

If you were fortunate to be in Fort Lauderdale for the recent 2013 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, then hopefully you sneaked a peak at Hargrave’s new 125 RPH GIGI II.  As experts in the 70’ to 140’ luxury motor yacht range, 26 North Yachts has had this vessel in our sights for some time. In fact, custom yacht creator Hargrave made our Top 10 Motor Yacht Manufacturers List. Manufactured in Taiwan, Hargrave Custom Yachts boasts extremely high customer loyalty.

Hargrave’s 125 RPH reflects an updated, edgier build than is typical for Hargrave and appeals to today’s yacht shoppers that desire the uniqueness of a custom yacht—without the wait. In a departure from the numerous tri-decks launching, Hargrave boldly introduces this raised pilothouse. Shelley DiCondina’s European-inspired interiors contrast light fabrics against dark woods in a contemporary styling popular on yachts today. Design considerations include spaciousness inside and out, elevated ceilings (eight feet on the aft main deck), ample light from large windows throughout and roomy entranceways. Interior touches include gloss walnut wood, espresso and taupe zebra veneer accents, sculptured glass and cream Kaduna marble.

The main deck of Hargrave’s 125 RPH includes a shaded aft deck with professionally-equipped bar (with four bar stools) and exterior dining area for up to 14 (or, remove the center section to create two cocktail tables). Guests are greeted inside with an airy salon for lounging, dining and gathering. Pass the dayhead (with exquisite Graff faucet) and you’ll enter a generous, country-style galley (taking up almost half of the indoor space on this deck) with an attractive center island and 132-bottle climate-controlled wine cellar. Serious chefs will appreciate the 3’ x 4’ food pantry. Light from the expansive windows spills onto the forward settee that can comfortably accommodate eight.  Etched glass on port and starboard doors allows for privacy.

The pilot house features a Stidd captain’s chair and plush area to relax and take in the views of the expansive sea, dramatic coastline or scenic port. Just aft of the pilothouse (under partial hardtop cover) sit a lounge, bar, dining area, outdoor kitchen, spa tub and room for tender and deck chairs. The sun deck also boasts an exterior helm.

Staterooms are configured quite smartly in the Hargrave 125 RPH. Forward and down, a private stairway leads to a king-sized cabin with ample storage. The other three cabins are accessed port side. A dramatic marble with stainless inlay entryway leads to the master aft and two ensuite cabins—surprisingly all with king beds (which in the guest cabin can be configured as two twins). In total, she can sleep eight guests in her four staterooms. Each crew cabin (there are three including the captain’s) has its own head, and crew will enjoy their own dining and galley space.
