Hitting the 130ft luxury yacht sweet spot!
Our pre-owned list of top 130-foot luxury yachts
The sweet spot in the large yacht market is around 130 feet/40m. These yachts are large enough to handle parties of 10, but still small enough to slip into the smallest of marinas. We have compiled a list of brokerage yachts model year 2008 and newer with asking prices from 17-21m USD. While we can fairly accurately estimate selling prices, below you will see the publically listed asking prices. Please only use this information as a guideline, every yacht is different and speaking with one of our yacht brokers will help you find the proper yacht for your needs.
Horizon 130 Motor Yacht
The 130 Horizon Premier series are all manufactured in Taiwan using the patented SCRIMP resin infusion resulting in a very strong yet lightweight one piece hull. New 130 Horizons are semi-custom projects, with the exception on some non-movable bulkheads, interior layouts and materials are highly customizable. The first five 130 Horizon series built were all 136 feet. If building a new one does not suit your tastes, consider this 2008 136 Horizon. “The feature I like the most aboard this boat is the dual master staterooms, one being on the main deck, with the second one pictured below taking up what is normally the sky lounge,” said Nicholas Scherb, Broker at 26 North Yachts.
2010 130 Westport 40 meter
The Westport 130 sets the benchmark of production 130 foot yachts. These tri-deck motor yachts feature a timeless style that continue to turn heads in all ports. Maintaining a 20 knot cruise speed at sea makes the 130 Westport the fastest yacht on our list. New 130 Westport’s have a turnkey asking price of 21m USD, but this lightly used 2010 130 Westport price was just reduced.
New 120 Mega Yacht Ocean Alexander
Ocean Alexander’s first foray into the 100+ market is currently being built by Christensen Yachts in Washington State. She was designed by Evan K Marshall with an on-deck master, four additional staterooms, tender garage, and captain’s quarters aft of the wheel house. Mike Carlson said that “the first buyer has an opportunity to buy a new boat as inexpensively as any 120 Ocean Alexander will ever be sold.”
2007 124 Hakvoort Yacht
This 124 foot 2008 Showboats Magazine best yacht under 50 meters was completed in 2008 by Hakvoort Shipyards. While she is the oldest yacht featured on our list, there is no questioning her Dutch pedigree. Her experienced owners built her after selling their previous 150 Hakvoort and have used her to cross the Atlantic multiple times. Nicholas Scherb, co-owner of 26 North Yachts liked that Hakvoort Yachts built her with a steel hull, to MCA class, with 12,647 gallons of fuel allowing for transpacific range.
2010 120 Benetti Motor Yacht
A number of Benetti 120s and Benetti 115s have traded hands in the past year. We think the reason is the gorgeous wood and stone work featured through these yachts. This 2010 120 Benetti has a modern stained oak interior that is really highlights the amount of light let in by the large windows. The airy skylounge has a three seat wetbar and a four person dining/card table ideal for light meals and hor’s dourves.
2010 136 Hargave
The word that comes to mind in describing this tri-deck Hargrave yacht is voluminous. Her 27 feet of beam carried very far forward allows for an on-deck master and massive country kitchen. The aforementioned master features a large bathtub and shower with unique red glass tile floors. Her guest spaces are best described as open and airy. The brokerages co-owner Mike Carlson was impressed that she sports accommodations for 13!
