Blog | Horizon Yachts Launches First Hull of New E98 Series

Last year we reported on the launch of Horizon Yachts’ innovative new hull design the FD85. Not be out done in 2017, the up and coming Taiwanese yacht builder just announced the launch of another ground breaking luxury motor yacht, the first hull of the new E98 Series.

The name of the yacht is Do It Now. She was built for an American yacht owner who previously owned a 76 foot Horizon yacht. Do It Now will be debuted at the Palm Beach International Boat show in March. According to Horizon, she is “the result of a collaboration between an experienced owner and the yard’s design teams.”

That collaboration resulted in some interesting and unique customizations for this E98. For example, while the Horizon E98 is offered in both skylounge and open bridge versions, Do It Now was built with an open bridge layout incorporating a fixed front glass windshield and specialized side panels that allow the area to be easily transformed from open-air to enclosed and air-conditioned.

As we have noted in previous reports about Horizon Yachts, and as we saw firsthand during our recent visit to their shipyards, the Taiwanese yacht builder prides itself on that kind of responsiveness to their clients and that level of customization.

Unique Features of the Horizon E98 Motor Yacht

Sleek, sexy, and powerful, the E98 is powered by twin CAT C32s of 1900hp each, affording a top speed of 22.5 knots and a 19-knot cruise. Zero-speed stabilizers, bow and stern thrusters and custom AV and navigation equipment, complete the picture for a perfect luxury motor yacht for entertaining or cruisng.

According to a company press release, Do It Now was “designed to suit the owner’s lifestyle and tastes, featuring an elegant custom interior that extends the main salon forward through the space normally occupied by a formal dining room. to a pass-through opening into the country kitchen.”

In addition, “each guest space boasts luxurious fabrics, neutral-colored stones and custom furnishings. Within a voluminous 23’ beam, the living areas and large country kitchen forward are highlighted by hi-gloss walnut finishes, while walnut in a satin finish sets the tone for the lower deck, which houses four spacious en suite guest staterooms.”

In the same press release, Horizon Group CEO, John Lu said “The new Horizon E98 motoryacht, with her extensive indoor and outdoor spaces, flexible interior configurations and numerous amenities, truly fits a market that we have seen arise in the last few years…clients who are not yet ready to make the leap to 110-foot plus yachts but are searching for something larger than 90 feet. The fact that hull one was so efficiently customized for a returning Horizon owner, is testament to the durability of this model’s design. We are looking forward to her making her U.S. debut at Palm Beach in March.”
