Hull #1 of Azimut Grande 95RPH Coming in Spring 2014

Azimut recently released renderings of Hull #1 of the new Azimut Grande 95RPH coming out in spring 2014. Azimut boasts that the new build ‘poses interesting solutions that improve functionality without altering the style’. Indeed acclaimed exterior designer Stefano Righini made a choice in the Azimut Grande 95RPH to separate the wheelhouse from the main deck by introducing a raised pilothouse (RPH). The thought was to create a half-deck to allow the boat owner and guests more space and to maximize privacy from the crew. Righini has ensured that the new design remains true to the Azimut Grande family look, retaining the vessel’s hallmark exterior lines. Interiors were designed by Studio Salvagni Architetti for Azimut Yachts, following success in the Azimut 80, Azimut 84 and Azimut 88. Since it joined the Azimut Yachts family of Atlantis, Magellano, Flybridge and S models, the Grande 95RPH is the Grande collection’s first model.

Awarded Best in Class, the spacious Azimut Grande 95RPH flybridge is all about entertaining and enjoying the best boating has to offer. A comfortable dinette accommodates 10, and a mini-bar, Jacuzzi and sunbathing area will please all on board. Double floor-to-ceiling picture windows in the main saloon create a liberating sense of space and a feel of continuity between indoors and outdoors. Guests and crew will appreciate a convenient day head.

The Azimut Grande 95RPH houses five cabins (sleeps 10) configured with four guest cabins each with private bath on the lower deck and the owner’s suite on the main deck forward. The design of the master incorporates breathtaking views of the sea (or port) and an ample-sized bath. Up to four crew will fit snugly in three cabins and two heads forward with separate access to the  galley on the main deck.

The Azimut Grande 95 RPH is powered by twin, MTU 16V2000M94s. When combined with the planing hull with skeg, she boasts much improved directional stability, according to Azimut, enabling max speeds of 26.5 knots and cruising at 20 knots. To stern, a garage with pivoting platform accommodates tender and toys. Azimut notes that despite its LOA of nearly 29 meters (95.14 feet), the Grande 95RPH will still fall within the 24-meter cut-off (78.74 feet) for registration as a pleasure craft, enabling savings when considering having to hire a professional captain, engineer and crew in larger vessels. Azimut also boasts that registration procedures are simplified when considering charter use—conforming with MGN280 guidelines, the MCA equivalent for under 24 meters.

Azimut Grande parent company Azimut Benetti prides itself on being the world’s largest private group in the yachting sector. The group notes that not only does this allow for economic and financial strength, but the group is free to reinvest profits in production without regard to shareholders, funds or parent companies.
