From St. Tropez, to Monte Carlo, to the Amalfi Coast, the Mediterranean is no stranger to superyachts, yacht charters, and the yachting lifestyle. However, recently the Eastern Mediterranean is giving its better known Western yachting hotspots a run for their money. Specifically, the Balkan country of Montenegro, situated on the Adriatic coast, is becoming known as a superyacht hub.

Porto Montenegro was once the base for the Austro-Hungarian navy. It is now home to 5-star resorts, luxury residences, a nightlife that rivals the French Rivera, and a veritable fleet of superyachts.

A Pearl of the Mediterranean

The official tourism sight for Montenegro, describes it as the “pearl of the Mediterranean.” The name is well-deserved. There are very few other areas where you can find a wealth of natural beauty ranging from amazing beaches to majestic rivers and mountains, combined with exciting nightlife and luxury resort amenities. It was only a matter of time before Porto Montenegro emerged as a super-chic destination for the superyacht crowd.

With its glamorous shopping district, breathtaking coastline and a culinary epicenter for international cuisine, Porto Montenegro’s allure is never ending. Recently, the port was named as the sight for the MYBA Popup Superyacht Show, for the second year in a row. This year the show will be held from September 8th through the 10th.

Over the last few years, Montenegro has been the up and coming superyacht destination of the Mediterranean. Its outstanding natural beauty, yacht friendly tax and legislation benefits, as well as rapidly growing infrastructure make it an ideal destination for yachts of any size. However, hosting the 2017 MYBA show, is expected to help cement the area’s growing reputation as a superyacht hub. In an interview for Superyacts.com, Tony Browne, the Marina Director of Porto Montenegro, said, “Porto Montenegro is continuing to lead the industry and set new benchmarks in marina services and standards. The Adriatic region, on the whole, is arguably the best cruising ground in the Mediterranean; Croatia has over 1000 islands to the north and you can continue north all the way up to Venice.”

Prices Reduced on Pre-Owned Luxury Yachts!

The fact that there is such growth in emerging global markets and international yachting destinations bodes well for the yachting industry overall. This is father evidenced by recent events in our own area, such as the Fort Lauderdale Marine Center being named the first Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) in US Waters.

So, if you are in the market for a luxury motor yacht, to cruise to Porto Montenegro, or anywhere else in the world, now is a great time to take advantage of some of our current price reductions.
