Boasting excellence over five generations as a shipbuilding family since 1875, Lurrsen prides itself on refined skills, advanced technologies, outstanding vessels, and close interaction with the client. Innovators then as they are now, Lurssen built the world’s first motorboat, the first diesel engine, and the first remote-controlled boat. Specialists in luxury custom built yachts from 110 feet to over 600 feet, they are uncompromising in their aesthetic and technological standards. Headquartered in Germany, Lurssen uses a network of shipyards and connections to create their vessels, including naval ships and other specialty boats.
Lurssen has constructed some of the largest superyachts on the sea: the 319-foot “Carinthia VII,” the 315-foot “Limitless,” the 377-foot “Pelorus,” Paul Allen’s 414-foot “Octopus,” and “Rising Sun” at 452.5 feet. Taking delivery in the spring of 2012 is the 295-foot “Ace,” at five decks high.
