Nordhavn, formerly known as Pacific Asian Enterprises, continues to be a successful partnership between Jim Leishman, Dan Streech, and Joe Meglen in Dana Point, California dating back to the 1970’s. With manufacturing taking place in Asia, the builder originally began with a 43-foot sailboat but emerged with powerboats in the late ‘80s with the 46-footer. Forced to look beyond the US in the early ‘90s when the Luxury Tax hit the marine industry hard, Nordhavn began an international marketing effort
Nordhavn’s expertise in creating vessels capable of global passage and owner-operation has allowed them to quickly and easily jump into the megayacht and superyacht markets. The large new factory in Xiamen, China, allows for 1,000 workers and the construction of Nordhavns up to 1,000 tons (approximately 200 feet) with the first Nordhavn N120 superyacht delivered at the end of 2012.
Nordhavn offers a full line (more than 15 models) of true deep-sea passagemakers, ranging from the Nordhavn N40 to the Nordhavn N120 (including the Nordhavn MS56 motor sailor). The Nordhavn EYF75 is an expedition sportfisher that boasts a long range displacement hull form taking avid anglers to remote fishing grounds with fuel efficiency. Nordhavn enthusiasts eagerly await the new Nordhavn 52 Coastal Pilot. All Nordhavns feature solid construction, safety and comfort, reliable and tested mechanical and electrical systems, and durable, yet classic interiors.
