Pacific Mariner was founded in 1996 in LaConner, Wash., by the Edson famly—the father was founder of Bayliner Boats—with a focus on uncompromising quality and workmanship in its cruising yachts. The original Pacific Mariner 65 and Pacific Mariner 85 were designed by renowned naval architect William Garden as a turnkey yacht. Now owned by Westport Yachts (headquartered in Washington State), Pacific Mariner has assimilated into its new family, with new styling and appointments for the Pacific Mariner 85, and a new motor design that weighs 20 percent less and is cleaner burning.
The Pacific Mariner 65 is a luxury motoryacht featuring easy owner operation. In fact, standard on this vessel are the power-rotating tender davit, docking windlasses, and hydraulic bow thruster. She’s big enough for six on board with room for a crew cabin. In addition, she boasts nimble handling and quiet cruising.
The new Pacific Mariner 85 perfects acoustic dampening—during trials decibels never exceed normal conversation event at max throttle. Top speeds can bet 25 knots. Similarly tailored for easy owner operation, the 85 houses four large staterooms and crew quarters. The new superstructure mold includes a bridge wider and longer than previous models. Yet, even with the Pacific Mariner 85’s tweaks, the she still retains strength as a seaworthy vessel that sensibly maneuvers even the roughest North Pacific waters. And, she’s still turnkey—two Northern Light generators, Naiaid stabilizers, bow thruster, electronics, linens, crystal, and flatware—just bring your toothbrush.
