He’s been called “the voice of God” by none other than Celine Dion. And he’s sold nearly 100 million records, making him the biggest classical music star in history. (Yes, even bigger than Pavarotti). And now, Andrea Bocelli is making headlines for his latest acquisition – the 2015 Darwin 86 expedition yacht “Stella Del Nord”, built by the Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche.
There’s a lot we could say about Bocelli’s new boat, starting with the fact that she’s the best-equipped Darwin 86 EVER (with over $1M in options). But we’re going to focus on her range: an astounding 6,700 miles. Granted that’s at an 8.5 knot cruising speed, and she tops out at a modest 11 knots, but we’re STILL impressed.
With her heavy-duty steel hull, the yacht was built to handle extreme weather conditions – which is fortunate, given that, immediately upon closing, “Stella Del Nord” drove right into an extreme storm. The good news? Bocelli still made his concert that night at Naples’s Teatro San Carlo opera house – and, according to our sources, he “absolutely killed it.” Bravo Andrea!
