Ferretti Introduces a New Flybridge Yacht Project
At the recent Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show 2016, Ferretti Yachts of Forli, Italy, introduced their latest project, the 780. The 75ft yacht, a collaboration between Ferretti and the Zuccon International Project Studio, is ready to enter production at the Cattolica shipyard and is expected to launch in the summer of 2017.
As conceived by the builders, the 780 is designed to be “the link between the yachts below 70 feet and the yacht maker’s larger vessels.”
According to Ferretti, the 780 sports many of the innovations that buyers have come to love on their newer models that have been launched since 2015, but with a bold style that is all her own. Among the 780’s unique design features is “the aft area, which offers the comforts of a real beach club with the new door operating system. The tailgate folds together or can be separated into two sections, and in its inner section two large sun pads are located. Once it is fully opened, the space is transformed into a relaxing area close to the water…”

More About the New Ferretti Yachts 780
Transforming spaces is a theme that is carried on throughout the 780. There is a retractable walkway to the bridge that opens up to form one interconnected large open space. In the outer bow area you will find a private lounge, much larger than those on competitor’s yachts of similar size and class. The standard configuration comes complete with a pair of sofas, coordinated with a small table that can be converted into a full-size dining table. The bow area is finished off with a huge central sun deck.
She has a four-cabin layout, each with en-suite bathroom. The full-beam master suite will be bathed in natural light through the large double glazing surfaces with integrated portholes. The guest cabins have a separate shower, vanity and study area, with a sofa and lounge chair completing the picture.
What really makes her a beauty for yachts in the 75 – 80ft range is her expansive Flybridge which borrows heavily from the design elements of the builders over 80 foot Flybridge models. The concept is to create a luxury motor yacht that is both a big flybridge yacht and at the same time, still a “manageable cruiser delivered for the evolving global luxury-yacht market.”
The yacht can also be configured in the “Tai He Ban” version, a layout for business entertaining that has been created specifically for the Asian Markets.
As far as the power plant goes, the 780 will have twin 1,400 mhp MAN engines, pushing her to an expected cruising speed of 24 knots and a top speed of 28 knots. Owners can also choose 1,550 mhp MANs for a 26-knot cruise and a 31-knot top end. Stabilizers also are optional.
