It’s all systems go with the new Horizon RP102, the recently added raised pilothouse motoryacht model to Horizon’s RP series. Designed by renowned Dutch yacht designer Cor D. Rover, she’ll join the growing family of the RP97, RP110 and RP120. (For those who had hoped to see the RP110 at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, thanks to a shipping delay, you’ll have to wait until the Palm Beach International Boat Show in March to board ANDREA VI.) In the Horizon RP102, Horizon has delivered luxury, comfort, safety and interior volume with a dual-purpose, performance-oriented hull.
Horizon recently announced that the RP102 had transitioned from the design phase into the mold stage. Demonstrating an innovative design process and use of the latest technology, Horizon noted, “Horizon’s CNC tooling facility utilized Taiwan’s only 5-axi router to create a 1:20 scaled mockup that represents the RP102’s design, and this model was approved to begin the mold stage for the RP102.” To even get to this point, Horizon evaluated 36 different hull shapes using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), whittling down the choices to the best hull form. The selected hull form was transformed into a 3D file and subjected to a subsequent simulation analysis that created the final RP102 design. Horizon boasts that the hull of the RP102 exhibits 25% more efficiency than a conventional planing hull between 16- and 24-knot speeds.

As we are seeing increasingly in new models and builds, natural light is key both on the main deck and lower deck. The Horizon RP102 delivers in this department with large glass windows that allow brightness into interior spaces. With “fluid lines” and “modern proportions,” the vessel gives off the feeling of a much larger motoryacht. Owners will enjoy a full beam master with en-suite bath on the main deck forward that offers luxurious surroundings and a spectacular view. Guests are situated on the lower deck in four cabins.
The Horizon RP102 boasts many innovations in her exterior areas. Designer Rover has patented a design to increase the Sky Terrace flybridge deck area by 20%—at the touch of a button! The motoryacht also comes with a popular beach club forward of the swim platform that features scenic views and protection from the sun. The beam of the RP102 measures 24’2” and the draft 6’. Her LOA is actually 104’5”. Twin CAT C32A 1600HPs provide ample power.
