Q: What made you want to go into the Yachting Industry?

A: I was born and raised in Miami and grew up on family and friends boats fishing, diving and knee boarding on Biscayne Bay. I have more memories to count of the numerous experiences and adventures boating throughout my life. After college, the opportunity to work with a marine insurance agency that specialized in luxury yachts was fate. I obtained my state insurance license twenty years ago and have been specializing in the marine insurance industry ever since.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?

A: The favorite part of my job is providing exceptional service while providing advice in the proper placement of marine insurance risks. My knowledge and experience benefit my clients in several different ways by educating them, walking them through the entire process and always being available.

Q: What was your proudest moment in the industry?

A: I worked for the same firm for eighteen years where I gained vast knowledge and experience. Brown & Brown Marine contacted me to inquire if I had any interest meeting with them to discuss a position. I accepted a position to work for Brown & Brown Marine and was a very proud moment in my life. Working for the sixth largest insurance broker in the USA provides enormous opportunities and I could not be more proud to work for such a great organization.

Q: What is your favorite boat and why?

A: I have been on and have insured hundreds of yachts in my career and it would be very difficult to indentify a specific type or manufacture as a favorite. Over the years, I have worked directly with many dealers and manufacturers and every time I pick a favorite yacht, it is not long before I come across new one. I am very impressed with numerous different yachts and the ever-changing modern technology of yachts today.

Q: What is a personal goal you have for next year?

A: To keep working hard and maintain the same passion and work ethic I always had. On a personal note, I want to exercise more and spend more quality time with my wife and children.

Q: What direction do you see the yachting industry going in your field?

A: I think the marine insurance industry is moving in a positive direction for me. With my experience and hard work, I have been successful in a down economy. Even if boat sales are down, people who already own boats will need insurance.
