“Miami Vice” premiered on NBC in the Fall of 1984 to instant ratings gold. Revolving around the exploits of two undercover vice squad detectives, the show received an unprecedented 15 Emmy nominations in its first season. It also launched its stars – Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas – into the stratosphere. Drawing heavily upon New Wave music & culture, “Miami Vice” was a real trendsetter – facial stubble, t-shirts under Armani jackets, and pastel colors in general would never be looked at the same way again.

“Miami Vice” also featured a ton of boats. Various models from Cabo, Endeavor, and Chris Craft made the cut. But the star of the show, at least as far as boats go, was a Wellcraft Scarab 38 KV with a turquoise hull – and that very boat is now listed on eBay for a whopping $20 million. Granted, a Ferrari Daytona Spyder, which also appeared on “Miami Vice”, is part of the transaction – but we think it’s fair to say the $20M price tag is “optimistic”, at the very least. But what do we know? (Note: quite a bit). Either way, check out this boat for yourself and let us know what you think.
