In addition to an updated version of the Marlow 97E, Marlow Yachts recently debuted hull #1 of the Marlow Explorer 80E series (26.43m), a successor of the popular Marlow 78 at the 2013 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. PAWS FOR LIFE is going to a repeat client who will thrill at Marlow’s oceangoing capabilities and extensive range.
Marlow notes that they were challenged by the repeat Marlow owner to “provide for specific needs difficult to meet in the 78 despite its long term position as the most popular large Marlow ever conceived.” However, the engineering and design staff went to work to create another Marlow masterpiece. In the Marlow Explorer 80E, Marlow has bumped up fuel capacity, speed, range and interior volume while preserving the classic Marlow look and feel of the 78. Look for the finest joinery and top-notch exterior hardware with a nod to comfort with improved insulation.
The protection of the command bridge allows for visibility and comfort in all kinds of weather. A well-conceived lazarette easily accommodates bikes, inflatables, water toys and gear in a space finished above industry standards. The Marlow Explorer 80E is powered by twin Caterpillar C-32 engines that yield a top speed of 30 knots with moderate load conditions (as compared to similar vessels that strain to reach the low 20s). She’ll accommodate eight guests in four double staterooms including a comfortable and ample full-beam master on the lower deck. For that long range capacity, she’ll carry 4,000 gallons of fuel in proprietary tanks that allow a 97% fuel capacity burn in complete safety.
Innovation is key at Marlow Yachts as evidenced by Velocijet Strut Keel technology, enabling top performance offshore with a draft of less than five feet. Other features include a RIVAT infusion hull with Kevlar reinforcement, Vinylester resins, custom NIBRAL props, and ATC Core-Cell sandwich construction. Marlow proudly states, “In fact no other yacht of similar size and type has ever achieved the exalted classification status from the most stringent world bodies that Marlow enjoys.”
The Marlow Explorer series offers 15 different models in the range of 53’ to 97’. Marlow notes that even in the early development stages, they knew they had mastered performance, quality, innovation and beauty in this offering. Marlow has an iconic way of combining touches of the past and present, maintaining traditional contours and styling while employing some of the most high-tech systems seen in modern day motoryachts. Luxurious Marlow Yachts are built in an eco-friendly, state-of-the-art Norsemen Shipyard in Xiamen, China.
Boasting some of the highest, exacting standards in the industry, Marlow prides itself on extensive research and testing, building only a handful of yachts every year—with extensive owner input—that live up to strict standards in quality and performance. Marlow Yachts only utilizes three major molds for fewer seams and presumably easier maintenance down the road. Exceptional standard features and clear attention to detail grace these luxury motoryachts, as well as natural stones like granite and marble. It’s for all of these reasons that Marlow Yachts made the 26 North Yachts Top 10 Motoryacht Builder List.
