British builder Sunseeker has been making some waves in the market recently, announcing that they’ll launch new yacht models in 2014—the 101 Sport Yacht, the 86 Yacht and the 75 Yacht. All models will be available in spring/summer.
The Sunseeker 101 Sport Yacht flaunts strikingly aggressive yet sleek looks and unforgettable styling. Expertly finished interiors are both tranquil and modern, and owners are invited to create their custom surroundings—be it with fabrics, woods, leathers or stones. Equipment on board is state-of-the-art. Carbon eyebrows and integrated coachroof are optional.
The sizable flybridge on the top deck of the Sunseeker 101 Sport Yacht effortlessly blends into the rest of the design, providing a perfect spot to entertain al fresco in two lounge areas that include a sunpad and fully seated bar. The openness carries into the salon with expansive glazed windows and a skylight. Luxury abounds in the four exquisitely considered double cabins that will accommodate up to eight guests. Crew quarters for four are located amidships. The main deck features a large lounge settee and dining table placed behind a central, three-seat helm. Depending on what types of drives are selected, the 101 Sport Yacht will achieve speeds between 30 and 40 knots (with twin MTU 2440hp, for example).

Sunseeker calls its new Sunseeker 86 luxury motoryacht a “seductive combination of style and exclusivity.” Like other Sunseekers, her exterior styling is sleek and iconic with the carbon hardtop, clean cut lines and sharp features. The yacht’s interiors considered comfort, space and technology. A life-sized model has assisted the design team in making structural improvements and enhancements to features that differentiate the 86 in the market. Some of these features include a bulwark fold-down balcony, innovative interior architecture and four, generously-sized en suite staterooms that could easily be found in a 90’ competitor. Her custom options include a flybridge hot tub, day head, open galley, fixed dinette, VIP suite and layouts conducive to charter or personal use.

The main salon boasts abundant access to streaming natural light that complements the openness of the design and the exquisite hand-finished furnishings. The bow lounging area includes a sizable sunpad and U-shaped seating area with table.

With a new hull form, the Sunseeker 86 reaches better displacement speeds and an impressive range of 1,500 miles. Depending upon the engine option, she’ll attain top speeds of approximately 30 knots. Passengers have their choice of an open-air thrill ride on the flybridge or protected cruising elsewhere on board. The Sunseeker 86’s beam measures 21’ and she draws 5’7”.
The Sunseeker 75 Yacht blends style and sophistication throughout three spacious decks with nods to both modern and classic design. She premiered at the London Boat Show in January sporting the industry’s latest materials and techniques. Her Z-shaped panoramic glazing and hull windows drew admirers for the pleasing design and the light, space and views they create inside. Intricate design detailing in the leather-wrapped cabinetry was also a crowd pleaser, reflecting the attention to detail throughout.

The main salon (with 50” television) and dining areas of the Sunseeker 75 Yacht feel spacious and comfortable, thanks in part to a redesign of the galley and dining areas. A thoughtfully designed sofa arrangement encourages socializing among guests. Accommodations for eight are provided in three, double suites and twin bed guest arrangement, all en suite for maximum privacy. Stepping outdoors and upstairs, life on the flybridge, like on other Sunseekers, is a focal point thanks to a newly styled wet bar and inviting seating and lounging area.
The Sunseeker 75 Yacht will attain speeds of up to 34 knots. The enlarged engine room can accommodate CAT 32 engines (in addition to a wide range of customizable engine options). Sunseeker boasts a state-of-the-art Ships Monitoring System and a new console design.
Located in Poole, England, Sunseeker Yachts was established in 1960 and began manufacturing under the Sunseeker name in the ‘80s. Although they got their start building plywood dinghies, they now specialize in fiberglass motoryachts and express yachts. News from across the pond suggests that Sunseeker is evaluating expansion to Southampton that will allow them the capacity to build bigger boats—23 of their models qualify as megayachts.
