Oceanco 295Ft Concept Superyacht a True Gem on the Sea
If you want your luxury motor yacht to truly outshine any other on the water, than the 295ft Dutch designed concept yacht – the Moonstone – is the vessel for you!
According to U.K.s Daily Mail, the Moonstone features a ‘twinkling’ hull that reflects the water in sunlight and puts on a dazzling light show at night thanks to 600 LED triangles that illuminate her hull.
In addition to the strikingly unique visual display, the superyacht boasts an infinity pool with dimmable lights, a hot tub, cinema and a touch-and-go helipad to ferry the owner and guests between the nearest airport and sea. The Daily Mail says that the Moonstone is also designed with “cameras that will capture the night sky, sunrise or their reflections on the water and then project the scenes onto overhead panels.”
The Moonstone is a joint project between Oceanco, a custom yacht builder based in Alblasserdam, Netherlands, and the Amsterdam firm, Van Geest Design.
Van Geest Design is responsible for the amazing, high-tech visuals of the luxury motor yacht. The well-known yacht design company has been working on the visual displays with Temeloy, a lighting design company, which include “enhanced mood lighting and a unique system to capture surrounding colors.”
The concept was on display at the recently wrapped Dubai International Boat Show. Oceanco’s group marketing manager, Paris Baloumis, said, “The Moonstone project has a groundbreaking hull design – with its faceted illuminated panels. We felt the Dubai boat show is a perfect place to debut this special project; after all, this is the city where the impossible became possible…the place where they create islands and where they build the tallest building in the world…so it makes sense for us to start here to inspire someone who dares to build such an extraordinary yacht as Moonstone.”
Other Features of the Moonstone Superyacht
According to Oceanco, the yacht features an entire owner’s deck, a gym and spa, a sky deck lounge with 360-degree panoramic views, accommodation for 14 guests and 29 crew members, and space for personal watercraft and a mini-submarine.
The cost of the project has not been disclosed, although a handful of renderings have revealed its scale. Oceanco said that the name of the yacht was taken from moonstone, “a gemstone which embodies energy, purity and unity.”
The yacht maker said, “Among its many touted properties, a moonstone is known as the psychic’s gemstone. The stone has a luminous sheen and colors of light dance through it. Project Moonstone promises to be all of these things.”
