Riva Yachts Celebrates its 175th Anniversary with New Flybridge Model

Riva Yachts of Italy is celebrating a major milestone this year, their 175th anniversary! Founded in 1842 in the small northern Italian town of Sarnico on the banks of Lake d’Iseo, Riva has been part of the Ferretti Group since 2000. Riva’s modern and contemporary exterior looks make them instantly recognizable, and their interior designs sport colors produced exclusively for this luxury yacht builder. The expression of skilled Italian style and artisanship is witnessed in the furnishings and accessories that make Rivas icons of luxury.

In celebration of a 175 year reputation for style and performance, the venerable Italian yacht maker has introduced a sexy, sporty new flybridge motor yacht model, the 100 Corsaro, that according to a recent profile in the Superyacht Times, “will not only aim to raise the benchmark in this size range but do so with the familiar Riva values and essence that its clients have come to love.”

More Details About the New Riva 100 Corsaro

The Riva Corsaro 100 is once again a collaboration between Riva and Officina Italiana Design, the same team that delivered some of the brand’s most popular smaller day boat models. Riva reports that since launching the Corsaro project in 2015, six units have already been purchased.

Like something out of James Bond film, the Corsaro’s most stunning feature is her ultra-sleek and slipstream exterior. A prominent black slit running nearly from bow to stern forms the main deck windows from the master suite up forward to the main saloon near the aft. This gives her an “aggressive and almost villain-like look,” that the designers hopes gives the yacht “a certain sense of mystery.”

Riva Yachts are as much for the speed and performance, as they are for their sexy exteriors, and the 100 Corsaro is no exception. She is powered by twin MTU 16V 2000 M93 engines which produce 1,792kW each and help the Corsaro reach 310 nautical miles while cruising at 23 knots – ideal for fast short-range cruising. And with a draft of only around 7 feet, the Corsaro is ideal for cruising the canals of Europe or the inland waterways, such as the Intracoastal right here in South Florida!

As far as interiors go, Officina Italiana wanted to go with design elements familiar to Riva clients. Two main layouts were designed targeting the Asian market and the rest of the world. The first unit which was delivered to Hong Kong at the beginning of this year features a full beam media room in the forward part of the main deck along with three guest suites on the lower deck. The main salon is finished in true Riva style with large sliding doors, big windows and a balcony on the port side making this a bright and airy space to relax, in even under cloudy skies.
