Why “Sunshine” HAD to be at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

Offshore Yachts are world-renowned for their superb construction, traditional styling, and rugged, yet refined, nature. Often called the “softest ride on the water”, Offshore Yachts have gained a sizable following, and with good reason.

Sunshine”, which was built for the U.S. market, is the perfect example of why Offshore Yachts has become such a respected builder. This three-stateroom motor yacht is abundantly-equipped and there is a redundancy or backup for virtually every system on board. Constant updates and textbook maintenance have only added to her allure. She’s now the best-equipped Offshore 72 on the market, and far-and-away the best-maintained one too.

And that’s precisely why this Offshore 72 simply had to be at FLIBS 2019. We knew too many buyers looking for a SERIOUS cruising yacht who were going to be at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. That’s why, at the end of last month, we listed this 2006 72′ Offshore at $1.749M, and within days she was in her slip at Las Olas Marina.

The dust has now settled. “Sunshine” did, in fact, get a lot of attention at the Show, and talks continue with several interested parties – but we wouldn’t be writing about her if someone couldn’t make an offer TODAY and buy her. That “someone” would be buying the flat-out nicest Offshore 72 on the market.

So what kind of equipment are we talking about, exactly?

Well, for starters, this motor yacht has EXTREMELY reliable 1100 horsepower MAN Common Rail engines – with low hours! Speaking of low hours, she has two generators – a Northern Lights 25kW generator & a Northern Lights 20kW generator – with 975 hours and 1125 hours, respectively. (Okay we’re impressed).

“Sunshine” also comes with updated navigation electronics with SERIOUS redundancies built into them. We are, after all, talking about a sturdy, traditional-style cruiser that was intended for “serious” voyages, so it’s important that the navigation system continues to work even when the cr*p hits the fan, to use a technical phrase. There are also recently-updated A/V electronics on board too, so you can enjoy the entertainment on “Sunshine” just like you can trust her redundant and thoroughly backed-up critical systems (not to say that meeting your audio-visual needs isn’t “critical”).

This Offshore 720 also features a Brownies Dive Compressor (accessed via the yacht’s cockpit lazaretto), new LED underwater lights, and new LED lighting throughout the vessel. But we’re not done yet! You’ll also find a high-end Besenzoni hydraulic gangway at the stern and dual anchor rollers & windlasses. We did say this boat comes fully equipped, didn’t we?

To round out our list of key features on board “Sunshine”, we also need to mention that the yacht has a 14′ Novurania tender, ISO boosts with bypass, and a new washer for good measure. Of course, this motor yacht boasts a million other cool features, but these are the ones that caught our eye today. Got it. Now, where can I see her?

It’s just too bad that this motor yacht is located in Patagonia, requiring two plane trips, a 9-hour car ride, and a trek on a mule to get there. We’d book at least the flight portion right now! We’ll take care of the mule. Okay, we’re kidding, of course! Not only is Patagonia far more accessible than that, but “Sunshine” is located right here in sunny Fort Lauderdale. The yacht couldn’t be any easier to see, and we DO hope that you come and see her soon. A ready-to-go-exploring Offshore 72 like this one doesn’t come on the market every day – and certainly not at an asking price of $1.749 million. And that’s that. Give us a call: 954.900.9988
