Nicholas Scherb
Principal
Nicholas Scherb is a senior yacht broker whose career blends deep operational experience at sea with sophisticated financial and transactional expertise. After earning a degree in finance from Indiana University, Nicholas pursued professional yachting, obtaining his USCG 500-Ton Master Oceans license and captaining yachts worldwide. That firsthand experience continues to inform his ability to evaluate vessels beyond the brochure—understanding how yachts are built, operated, and maintained at the highest level.
Today, Nicholas plays a leading role at 26 North Yachts, where he has been instrumental in the firm’s growth and global reach. His background allows him to guide clients through complex yacht purchases, new-construction projects, and strategic sales with clarity, discretion, and precision. From shipyard negotiations and specification reviews to market positioning and resale strategy, Nicholas approaches every transaction with a long-term ownership mindset.
Working from 26 North’s Fort Lauderdale office and traveling internationally for client engagements, Nicholas maintains close relationships with premier shipyards and industry leaders worldwide. His cruising and transaction experience spans the Caribbean, Bahamas, Florida, the U.S. Northeast, Canada, the Great Lakes, and Europe, with frequent time spent in Europe visiting shipyards and evaluating new product.
Clients value Nicholas for his persistence, market insight, and ability to align the right yacht with the right owner. His goal is not simply to close a transaction, but to create a seamless experience that protects the client’s investment while enhancing their enjoyment of yachting.
Based in Boca Raton, Florida, Nicholas balances his professional life with family, travel, fishing, and real-estate investing. He is especially proud of mentoring the next generation of brokers at 26 North Yachts and helping clients navigate the world of yachting with confidence.
