Trinity Yachts Delivers 120’ Finish Line

Gulfport, Mississippi-based Trinity Yachts recently announced the delivery of Finish Line, a custom designed 120’ raised pilothouse motoryacht. With her aluminum hull and superstructure, she’ll be making her way to the Trinity Yachts Stand at the 2013 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show—where 26 North Yachts will be ready to board.

Trinity Yachts may be a strong contender for a coveted spot on the 26 North Yachts Top 10 Motoryachts list should they continue their shift toward smaller more manageable yachts in the 70’ to 140’ range.  Previously Trinity has consistently focused on motoryachts 164’ (50 meters) and larger.

Her owner hopes that the design and performance of this new yacht will inspire other builders to manufacture in the United States. John Dane, Trinity Yachts’ president also noted that the build reflects a fine display of American craftsmanship and economic benefits. “Over the life of the yacht, additional skilled laborer jobs will be created and will perpetuate the economic value that all yachts bring local communities,” said Dane.

Trinity Yachts has serious bragging rights for the unusual speed for a yacht of this size—her owner is a race car enthusiast—thanks to sleek, naval architecture and styling that allow her to run in excess of 23 knots.  Finish Line has a very specific draft of 5’6” in half-load condition to easily maneuver the East Coast of the United States and the Bahamas. Her beam is just shy of 26’. The hull design is a modification and a further refinement of a hull design that Trinity has successfully used on several previous yachts.

Outfitted with state-of-the-art systems and technology, the vessel provides watertight access from the transom and main deck portside to the lazarette and engine room. Finish Line is powered by twin MTU 16v2000 main engines rated at 2,600 hp each. Captains will appreciate the 100 hp Arcturus TRAC bow thruster in tight quarters. Naval architecture was provided in house by Trinity Yachts, and Joanne Lockhart with YachtNext designed the stunning interiors.

Trinity Yachts has adeptly considered on board living with ease and comfort. For those still, hot, humid days docked at port, an air-conditioned exterior aft deck with full wet bar, dining table and seating for eight will keep occupants cool and entertained. The main salon accessible through sliding glass doors also has a wet bar, entertainment center, L-shaped seating and additional chairs for lounging and relaxing. The formal dining area is open and forward with ample lighting from large windows and doors on the main level.

A powder room portside and formal entrance starboard provide nice flow and convenience for owners and guests. With informal dining for eight, the galley boasts tremendous views and an island with bar stools for those who like to hover and observe meal preparation.

The sun deck and flybridge feature a full helm station and a full wet bar with plenty of comfortable seating for alfresco living. The aft deck will easily handle a tender and two jet skis. Access to stairs down to a swim platform at water level is provided here as well.

Accommodations in Finish Line include a full-beam owner’s cabin and three guest staterooms. The master features a king-sized berth with customary his and hers ensuite baths and walk-in closet. Guests will enjoy two, queen-sized berths and one, twin berth cabin and full, private baths. Forward of a watertight bulkhead are three crew cabins and three full baths for crew of up to five.
