What to Expect at the 57th Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show

Mark your calendars, the 57th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) hits town November 3-7, and this year’s event promises to bigger and better than ever. This annual boat show, one of the largest and most highly anticipated by yachting and boating enthusiast, means more to the area than a Super Bowl!

In a statement to the press, Brett Keating, vice president of consumer marketing for Show Management, the event’s producer, said, “Each year, we take steps to improve upon the last event. Guests can expect an elevated experience at this year’s show,”

What’s New for FLIBS 2016

According to Keating, visitors to FLIBS 2016 can expect some changes, all designed to enhance their experience. The organizers have completely redesigned exhibition space and layouts throughout the show, which now stretches across seven sites.

One of the most noticeable changes is the “rebranding” of the former Yacht Builders Tent, located at the Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel & Yachting Center, to the “American Pavilion.” Sponsored by the U.S. Superyacht Association, the American Pavilion is expected to showcase 40 U.S. companies serving the superyacht industry.

Other changes visitors to the 57th Annual Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show can expect include:

  • A larger and improved selection of food and beverage options, including a new buffet on the second floor of the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center.
  • A new air-conditioned Sailfish Pavilion (previously open-air) in the parking lot of the convention center, which will offer the latest in center consoles, personal watercraft and boating accessories.
  • Boat-handling skills training workshops for first-time boaters sponsored by Carefree Boat Club.
  • The former Yachting Tent showcase at Bahia Mar has also been redesigned and renamed the Superyacht Pavilion.

Overall, nearly 1,500 boats will be on display during the show across more than 3 million square feet of exhibit space which includes more than $4 billion worth of boats, yachts, marine accessories and products, marine art and jewelry.
