Cynosure VII | 51' 2015 Sea Ray

As with most express cruisers, Cynosure VII can be entered via the swim platform or the gunnel to starboard, depending on the dock. The cockpit is two steps up from the large hydraulic swim platform, through a starboard side transom door.

The fully enclosed and air conditioned bridge/upper salon is flush with the cockpit through a sliding glass door. There is a wet bar to starboard; the helm station is forward to starboard. Guest seating and dining is to port one step up. The integrated hardtop has a shaded sunroof.

A centrally located set of stairs leads to the salon and galley below. The salon is to starboard with the galley to port. The ensuite guest stateroom is forward; the full-beam amidships ensuite master stateroom is aft.

Swim Platform

The 45” wide hydraulic swim platform on Cynosure VII is the perfect place to store a tender on its sliding chocks, with six D rings for anchoring the tender. (A tender does not convey with Cynosure VII.) The swim platform surface is white non-skid. An integrated swim step ladder with a grab bar is to starboard.

There are three opening transom hatches with hydraulic struts; the cabinets are lined with black plastic free-flow drainage tiles. The Glendinning electric cord retrieval system with remote, a dock-water inlet, a fresh-water wash-down, and a cable TV connection are all located in the starboard cabinet.

A diesel fuel tank fill as well as the black water disposal access is on the aft gunnel to port; another diesel fuel tank fill is on the aft gunnel to starboard. There are four stainless steel cleats accessible from the swim platform. The cockpit is two teak steps up from the swim platform, through a stainless steel and smoked Lucite door etched with the Sea Ray logo.

A hot/cold freshwater shower with a stainless steel cover is located at the cockpit step.

Cockpit

The cockpit on Cynosure VII can be covered with a black Sunbrella canvas cover with two large Eisenglass windows. Once the cover is removed the cockpit can be shaded by the black Sunbrella canvas power actuated sunshade that deploys from the hardtop. The teak sole of the cockpit has the engine room access hatch.

A Kenyon electric grill with digital controls and a removable stainless steel cover is to starboard in the cockpit. The grill station includes: storage under the grill, an 110V electrical outlet, and two cup holders.

A U-shaped tan leatherette settee is to port in the cockpit; it is the perfect place for cocktails or alfresco dining. A high gloss teak table is protected by a Sea Ray fitted cover. The settee features: stainless steel cup holders, courtesy lights, and storage.

Foredeck

The foredeck of Cynosure VII is accessible via sidewalks on both sides of the vessel; stainless steel hand rails on the hardtop can assist while moving forward.

The deck has a black Sunbrella sun pad with the Sea Ray logo. The back of the sun pad folds up to convert into a seatback. The sun pad is two separate pieces which fold, and have a handle for easy removal and a strap for storage. The deck also features stainless steel cup holders, and stainless steel handrails. A hatch from the guest stateroom is forward of the sun pad. The entire foredeck area is non-skid.

The bow has a stainless steel anchor roller and spotlight mounted to port. A flush fiberglass anchor locker is to starboard, while a flush fiberglass storage locker is to port. The anchor windlass system can be operated from the foredeck foot pedals or the remote switch at the helm. There is 200’ of chain on the stainless steel anchor.

From the cockpit you enter the air conditioned bridge/upper salon through stainless steel sliding glass doors and get your first indication of just how luxurious Cynosure VII is. The large windows combined with the sunroof and sliding glass door make the entire area feel open and spacious. The dark wood sole and cabinetry offsets the light colored walls and seating areas.

The wet bar is to starboard. The gleaming quartz countertop features a covered round stainless steel sink with a single lever faucet, and an in-counter covered trash bin. A 32” LG TV is mounted over the wet bar. There are two large cabinet doors beneath the counter. The aft cabinet houses an Isotherm drawer beverage refrigerator with a pull-out freezer drawer, a small storage drawer, and a LG DVD player. The forward cabinet houses the trash bin and pull-out storage. A third cabinet forward is for glass storage. There are two LED lights over the wet bar, an 110V electrical outlet, and a stereo speaker. A window behind the wet bar opens for ventilation.

The helm station is forward of the wet bar. The double helm bench seat turns 90 degrees to provide additional seating for the upper salon.

An L-shaped pearl white leatherette settee is to port one step up. The aft portion is a chaise for lounging, and there is ample storage beneath the cushions. The double-leg pedestal wood table folds open to allow guests to be seated comfortably. The window behind the settee opens for ventilation. There are four LED lights over the settee; an 110V electrical outlet, a stereo speaker, the control for the 16,000 BTU Cruisair reverse cycle AC/heat unit, and a navigation storage compartment are all located behind the settee.

The sliding glass door and the side windows all have fabric privacy curtains. The bridge/upper salon hardtop roof has four large retractable roof panels with retractable pleated shades. Fresh air is also available through an opening air vent hatch in the hardtop.

The helm station on Cynosure VII is located so that the captain can feel part of the conversation both in the upper or lower salon. The double helm seat with embroidered Sea Ray logos has fold-up foot and arm rests and neck rests. The steering wheel also has the Sea Ray logo. There are three LED lights over the helm station as well as courtesy lights at the floor at the helm station. The black leather helm station is uncluttered and organized, and features two cup holders.

There is good navigational visibility with the large windshield, which has two windshield wipers. A removable black sun screen covers the entire windshield.

The Sea Ray Sundancer 510 was designed to face any sea condition with a 19 degree deadrise and a deep-V keel. The Sundancer 510 is built with Sea Ray’s single-skin lamination process. Sea Ray considers it a very consistent lamination method that achieves the structural properties Sea Ray requires, and gives the boat a solid feel. The internal components of the vessel are thus relied on to provide a “unibody construction.”

The large side windows are raked to aid in the sleekness of the profile. The six feet of space between the base of the windshield and the helm station creates a glass cathedral ceiling over the galley and salon, which provides natural light and limitless headroom down below. It also provides outstanding visibility from the helm.

The hull below the rub rail on Cynosure VII is black in color.

Salon

The salon on Cynosure VII has five wide non-skid steps down from the bridge/upper salon. A stainless steel handrail is available for safety. An end table is under the steps, with an 110V electrical outlet. A large, framed mirror is on the aft bulkhead and helps reflect all of the natural light in the salon.

The L-shaped pearl white leatherette salon settee is to starboard. The aft section is a chaise, and a 16,000 BTU Cruisair reverse cycle AC/heat unit is located under the chaise. There is storage under the rest of the settee. A matching ottoman with storage is in front of the settee. Three large cabinets are over the settee. A Harmon Kardon AVR 2700 home theater receiver is built-in over the settee. The Rockford Fosgate audio system has Sirius XM radio.

A double door cabinet forward houses the well-labeled electrical panel. An end table under the cabinet has two small drawers for storage.

The 32” LG TV is forward, across from the settee, mounted on a brown leatherette wall. A cabinet under the TV has the LG DVD player and a CD/DVD rack. The Bose surround sound system includes three speakers over the TV and two speakers over the settee.

The dark brown wood sole matches the sole in the bridge/upper salon and compliments the light furniture, countertops, walls, and headliner. The use of mixed light and dark woods, leather surfaces, and some textured vinyl wallcoverings all give Cynosure VII an opulent feel.

The entire salon is bathed in natural light from the bridge/upper salon and the large stationary side windows, with silver aluminum blinds. There are also courtesy lights, LED ceiling lights, and two reading lights over the settee in the salon.

A door forward, to port of the guest stateroom door leads directly into the forward head.

Galley

The galley on Cynosure VII is to port on the same level as the salon. The dark wood sole continues into the galley. A stainless steel Isotherm over/under refrigerator/freezer is aft in the galley. The Cuisinart microwave oven is built-in over the refrigerator.

The same quartz countertop used throughout the vessel is in the galley. A large round stainless steel sink has a removable quartz cover, which stores in a designated slot under the sink. There is a single lever faucet with pull-out sprayer. An electric Kenyon two burner ceramic cooktop with Corian cover is forward in the galley. The bulkhead behind the cooktop is mirrored.

Large stationary windows are over the galley workspace and provide natural light. They also have silver aluminum blinds.

Galley storage includes three upper cabinets over the galley sink and workspace, and two upper cabinets over the cooktop. There are three wide storage drawers under the cooktop, and a double door cabinet under the sink and workspace.

Other galley features include: a leather wrapped stainless steel grab bar between the galley and salon, five LED ceiling lights, courtesy lights at the window over the counter, a galley exhaust fan, and an 110V electrical outlet for small appliances.

A sliding pocket door leads aft from the galley into the master stateroom.

Master Stateroom

The full beam master stateroom is aft of the galley on Cynosure VII, under the bridge/upper salon, and is accessible through a sliding pocket door. You first enter the vanity area, to port, one step down from the galley. The head and shower are aft on the same level. The master stateroom is one step down to starboard. The sole in the vanity area is the same brown wood found throughout the vessel. The master stateroom is the same carpeting found in the other carpeted areas throughout the vessel.

The focal point of the master stateroom is the athwartship Queen-sized walk-around berth. The headboard is three sectioned padded brown leather, and features storage under the hinged top. A nightstand with a quartz inlay top and storage drawer is located on both sides of the berth. A storage drawer is under the berth, and there is storage under the mattress, as well as the 8,000 BTU Cruisair reverse cycle AC/heat unit.

The hanging lockers located both forward and aft of the berth is cedar lined and lighted, and features a shelf behind the handing bar.

A cabinet housing the Splendide 210XC washer/dryer is in a double door cabinet in the forward bulkhead.

A large, framed mirror is on the aft bulkhead, which reflects the natural light through the stationary portlights behind the berth. The room can be darkened with the silver aluminum blinds over the windows.

The 32” LG TV is mounted on the brown leather wall across from the berth. The Bose surround sound system in the master stateroom includes three speakers over the TV and two speakers over the berth. The LG DVD player is located in the locker forward of the berth.

The master stateroom also features: a connection for the central vacuum system, an 110V electrical outlet on both sides of the berth, two reading lights, four LED ceiling lights, a control for the reverse cycle AC/heat, courtesy lights around the base of the berth, courtesy lights over the berth, and a courtesy light at the step to the vanity area.

Master Vanity

The master vanity is one step up from the master stateroom, to port, outside of the master head. The sole is dark brown wood.

The vanity features a quartz countertop with a mounted oblong ceramic bowl sink with a single lever faucet. There is a shelf behind the vanity, in front of a small stationary window with a silver aluminum blind. A double door mirrored storage cabinet is over the vanity. A cabinet and two large drawers are under the vanity. The vanity also features: four LED ceiling lights, an 110V electrical outlet, and a soap dish.

A mirrored door leads into the master head, on the same level as the vanity.

Master Head

The master head on Cynosure VII features a Vacuflush head. A storage cabinet is mounted over the head. A portlight with a ventilation window and silver aluminum blind is over the head. The sole is decorator tile. The head also features: an exhaust fan for ventilation, a towel bar, a door hook, a light, and a separate stall shower.

The separate stall shower features: a decorator tile floor, a glass door, a removable and adjustable shower head, a shelf with a stainless steel rail, a seat, a light, and a stainless steel hand hold safety bar.

Guest Stateroom

The guest stateroom on Cynosure VII is forward of the salon. A centerline sculpted Queen-sized berth with a brown padded vinyl headboard is the focal point of the stateroom. There are drawers under the berth, as well as the forward 8,000 BTU Cruisair reverse cycle AC/heat unit. The sole and steps to the berth are carpeted.

There is a mirrored double door hanging locker to starboard. It is cedar lined and lighted and also has two shelves behind the hanging rail. There are three upper cabinets to both starboard and port. Two open shelves with stainless steel rails are located at the head of the berth on both sides.

Lighting is provided by four LED ceiling lights, two reading lights, courtesy lights at the steps to the berth, courtesy lights under the upper cabinets, and courtesy lights over the berth. Natural light is available through the ceiling hatch, with integrated magnetic shade and screen, and the fixed portlights behind silver aluminum blinds.

One of the upper cabinets to port is the entertainment cabinet, which houses the LG DVD player. The 24” LG TV is mounted in an alcove to port. There are two 110V electrical outlets, as well as controls for the forward AC/heat unit.

The door to the ensuite head is to port.

Guest/Day Head

The guest/day head can be entered directly from the guest stateroom or the salon. It features a Vacuflush head. A large cabinet with towel bar is mounted over the head. The sole is decorator tile.

The vanity features a quartz countertop with a mounted round ceramic bowl sink with a single lever faucet. There is a shelf behind the vanity, in front of an opening portlight with a silver aluminum blind. A large, mirrored storage cabinet is over the vanity, and a large cabinet is beneath the vanity. The vanity also features: a towel ring, three LED ceiling lights, an 110V electrical outlet, a soap dish. The head also has an exhaust fan for ventilation, and a hook on the door.

The separate stall shower features: a decorator tile floor, a glass door, a removable and adjustable shower head, a window with a waterproof curtain, a shelf with a stainless steel rail, a seat, a light, and a stainless steel hand hold safety bar.

Cynosure VII has Cummins engines with Zeus pod propulsion system. According to the manufacturer “Zeus offers dramatically improved high-speed handling and delivers up to: 30% improved fuel economy, 15% faster cruise speed, and 15% faster top speed.” Zeus also features rear-facing propellers and a tunnel mounted design that is built to help protect the pod drive from underwater debris.
