When we first saw “Adastra”, we thought FOR SURE this was yet another concept boat. She’s not. Not only that, but this 140-foot trimaran, built in China by McConaghy Boats, has been crisscrossing the globe ever since she was launched in 2012.
But is this highly-unusual yacht “insane”, as the headline of this Robb Report article suggests? Yes, actually she is. How else can you describe a boat that looks more like a UFO (unidentified floating object) than anything else? Let alone one that has a 10,000 nautical mile range at 10 knots and can handle SERIOUSLY rough conditions – she’s been out in 50 knot winds and lived to tell the tale. That sounds pretty insane to us.
Adastra’s owner has certainly made the most of his yacht’s enormous range & robust build. She’s already crossed the Atlantic half-a-dozen times, and covered untold thousands of miles around the globe. Now this futuristic vessel, currently sitting in Nassau, is on the market at an asking price of $12 million. Given all of Adastra’s many extraordinary attributes, her price tag seems far from insane to us.
Want to find out more? Well, you don’t have to just read about her – call us to arrange a viewing for July 25th or 26th, when Adastra will be in Fort Lauderdale.
