Starting small at the age of one with a family 30′ Sea Ray, his maritime journey swiftly progressed to larger’ vessels. Yet, it was at age 13 when his love for the water truly flourished, marked by a memorable gift from his father—a 13’ Boston Whaler. By his 16th birthday, he proudly owned an Edgewater, a cherished possession he intends to pass down to his daughters, a testament to his generational love for the sea.
Bill’s entry into the yachting world, however, was more fortuitous. A 108′ Broward on his dock offered him an opportunity as a freelance deck hand during charters and owners trips, setting the stage for his immersion into the maritime industry.
Despite studying business with a focus on finance and economics at Bentley University, Bill’s heart remained tethered to the ocean. While pursuing a career in consulting, his vacations were devoted to crewing on yachts. The magnetic pull of the sea grew stronger, compelling him to make the transition to a full-time yachting career. In 2012, fate led him to the Palm Beach International Boat Show, where Nicholas Scherb, Co-Founder of 26 North, welcomed him as their inaugural broker.
Bill’s life has been defined by the ebb and flow of the waves, spanning from the Northeast to the Great Lakes, the Caribbean, and Florida. Fishing became his compass, guiding him further into uncharted waters, a pursuit that not only shaped his personal life but also equipped him with an intrinsic understanding of the sea, becoming a crucial asset in his brokerage role.
