From Go-Karting to Formula 1? Maybe.

We need to put this rumor to bed immediately – 26 North Yachts is NOT starting a Formula 1 racing team. Though we did take a small step in that direction yesterday. That’s when Mike Carlson and Bill Powers took 80 laps, at speeds reaching 60 mph, in a high-performance go-kart at Homestead-Miami Speedway. According to local press reports, multiple course records were set by the pair.
While Mike and Bill are “officially” part of Xtreme Action Park’s racing team, and simply making practice runs for the League Championship on June 22nd, we all know that’s a stepping stone to a company team. Now, after that happens, are we going to follow in the footsteps of Michael Schumacher, Jan Magnussen, and other racing legends, and make the transition from Go-Karting to Formula 1? Only time will tell.
