Twins Michael and Bernard Chang, the CEO and president of IAG Yachts, had a passion for boats that ultimately led them to start their own venture in 2005. IAG is a newcomer to the luxury megayacht market as an independent division of the China-based International Audio Group, a manufacturer of consumer and professional audio, lighting, and video products. IAG’s shipyard is located in Zhuhai, Southeastern China, and has assembled a management team from European yards with celebrated naval architecture and mechanical engineering experience. The yard is capable of building luxury motoryachts up to 250 feet LOA in steel and aluminum.
IAG’s first motoryacht launched was the IAG PrimaDonna 127 built in an all-fiberglass trideck with European styling and accentuating curves. Her Italian-inspired décor graces the five guest staterooms, the master, and other areas inside and out. PrimaDonna 127 was built on spec, and IAG has several more 127s under construction on spec. IAG is also building a new Electra 100 series that has proven to be popular. Also boasting grand Italian styling, the two-deck, raised pilothouse design offers full walk-around decks leading to a large sunpad on the foredeck—and only draws four feet.
