“Nirvana” Has Finally Arrived

We have a much-anticipated new addition to our dock at Marina Bay: “Nirvana”, the one-of-a-kind 1999 90′ Palmer Johnson. One-of-a-kind? Well, to begin with, she’s completely wheelchair accessible – among other modifications, multiple lifts were installed, providing yacht-wide access for a wheelchair. That’s what distinguishes her from 99.8% of other yachts.

Putting that aside, Nirvana is STILL in a different league from most other yachts. Built at Palmer Johnson’s famed Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin facility, she has the substantial engine room, oversized MTU motors, and Ray Hunt-designed aluminum hull of true long-range cruising boat. Her sophisticated interior, infused with a mix of cuban mahogany woodwork and high-grade granite, is a clear giveaway that Nirvana is a proper, pedigreed yacht. Thanks to a top-to-bottom paint job last year and a decade’s worth of refits & upgrades, she looks the part too.

But that’s enough about her for now – as any student of Buddhism knows, one must actively seek out “nirvana”, the highest state of enlightenment in that religion. There’s effort involved. It doesn’t just come to you. Neither does our Nirvana – fortunately, she now sits in the heart of Fort Lauderdale at Marina Bay, so “seeking her out” just became a lot easier.
