Turkish Yacht Builder Introduces the Numarine 62Fly

Turkish Yacht Builder Introduces the Numarine 62Fly

Turkish Yacht maker Numarine has built its reputation on the release of larger yachts, such as its popular 105 foot hardtop and flagship Numarine 130. However, following the successful introduction of some smaller motor yachts, such as their 70′ and 78′ models, the shipyard has unveiled its latest masterpiece: the Numarine 62Fly.

According to the builder, don’t let her smaller size fool you! She is equipped with “ample open areas and brightly lit interiors that define Numarine’s traditional and unique distribution of space, while the use of the IPS transmission system enabled the fitting of oversized fuel tanks, thus making the craft a cruiser with no boundaries.”

A recent review by the Robb Report, echoed the yacht builder’s thoughts, saying of the   62Fly that “Numarine’s new baby shares the same quality DNA as the rest of the line, including a foam-cored, vacuum-infused hull and superstructure, with an emphasis on reducing noise and vibration.”

We have Numarine’s in-house designer, Can Yalman, to thank for her sporty lines, and interiors that make glamorous use of natural light. The interior is all about light and space, giving her the feel of her much larger cousins. Much of that is accomplished with an open saloon that features rear doors that retract fully to join the interior and rear cockpit. This “seamless integration of indoors and out” is a running theme in much of the 62-foot yacht’s design, with electric forward saloon windows that open with the push of a button and wide portholes in the stateroom’s windows that also slide open.

Overall she has a look similar to many contemporary flybridge yachts, and like the best of those yachts, Yalman included fine details like stainless-steel accents and hand-stitched leather on the stair rails.

Other Unique Features of the Numarine 62Fly

Numarine refers to the 62Fly as a “miracle of space.” That is certainly true, with the open natural light theme in the extended saloon, and can also be seen in design decisions such as the galley without walls in the saloon, with the dining table situated across, which further leaves the saloon feeling wide open. With sofas at the rear, the area feels like one large gathering point. Numarine also used every inch of space on the exterior for social areas, including the larger-than-expected flybridge, generous space on the bow, and an aft cockpit table for alfresco dining.

Naval architect Umberto Tagliavini designed the aforementioned vacuum-infused hull and superstructure of the 62Fly for speedy, yet stable, offshore cruising. She can be powered with Volvo IPS drives or straight-shaft MAN engines. With the upgraded Volvo IPS 1200, the 62Fly has a top end of 35 knots and 28-knot cruise speed. Two 1,200 hp MAN diesel engines give it a top speed of 36.5 knots. Check out this exciting video of the 62Fly in action!

The 62Fly will make its public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2017.
